I am trying to get back into the running groove again. Last time I think I posted a time in this thread it was before the Castaway Cay 5K on August 5th! :surprised:

So my time on the 5K was 0:35:42 for an average pace of 11’31″/mile

Since then I have done just 3 runs :surprised: Much of August I tried to run. I *wanted* to run, but my left knee wasn’t having it. Knee problems run (no pun intended) in the men in my family – my grandfather and one uncle so far have had knee replacement surgery. I think knee problems are beginning to manifest in me :( But it’s intermittent, so if my knees feel good, I’ll run. If they don’t, I’ll do something else less stressful on my joints.

In September my knees felt ready to run, but my schedule wasn’t having it :P Christy and I both were wrapped up in busy-ness, but we got a lot done! We both celebrated our birthdays (back-to-back on the 17th and 18th). I built a camp site in the forested part of our property (actually still working on this). We finished our time leading a Celebrate Recovery ministry at our church. Christy did a lot to prepare for Operation Christmas Child shoe box donations at our church. I worked with some other men to pre-charter a Trail Life USA troop at our church. And all that while trying to keep up our usual home chores.

    So I did a paced workout on September 13th – 30 minutes, 2.14 miles, avg pace 14’00″/mile
    Again on September 19th – 30 minutes, 2.16 miles, avg pace 13’54″/mile
And most recently yesterday – 30 minutes, 2.22 miles, avg pace 13’30″/mile

Things are much calmer now on the schedule, so hopefully I’ll be able to get back into a groove (and if my knee acts up, I’ll just walk it like some other fine folks I know :) )

@rocketear99 holy moly! That’s a lot on your plate! I wouldn’t have been running either if my schedule looked like that
    :surprised:
Good luck on getting some more runs in. It does feel good to get out there
    :)

@missingwdw I had the same thing and I was over the moon at how cool it was! Our temps in the mornings have been mid 70s and 95-100% humidity. I got 3.1 miles in at 10:21 pace this morning. It’s amazing how to people will see the same thing differently. :D

You’re right, it was soooooo much cooler! But still sticky. I just can’t wait to run in that cold thin air!
    :elsa:
Even with the humidity kickin, I was able to run my fastest 6 miles, finishing in 58 minutes. So yeah, it was still good!

Wow, great job @rocketear99! You have been extremely busy but those are some great workouts! No shame in walking when you need to, getting older stinks sometimes.

Can anyone recommend an app to track runs that doesn’t require me to register or sign in using Fakebook or Google or something? I have an app called Run Tracker but I don’t know how accurate it is. It seems like it’s always late on showing me how far I’ve run. I always seem to go a little farther than 2 miles before it updates with the distance I’ve run.

@Eagle90 Before getting my Garmin, I used Sports Tracker. I think I could link it to my FB account but I don’t know that it was required. My hubby used to use Strava too.

I tried Strava but it required a log in before it would do anything so I deleted it. Looks like the Sports Tracker requires a log in as well. I don’t want to log in. They do not need to track me and I don’t want my accounts linked to it.

    Thanks anyway!

Oh gotcha! I didn’t realize you weren’t wanting to log in at all. I’m not sure there are many options without some sort of email connection at least or a log in created.
