    @nascfan No worries, I wouldn’t dream of ruining my vacation like that :) I have my goals, but in the end Christy and I have agreed to only go as fast as whichever of us is slowest – even if we have to walk the whole thing. Besides, I already pre-invested in snorkel rental and I want to be able to use it :cool:

    @RocketEAR99 Yikes!!! You did have quite the dress rehearsal! Those are hot and muggy temps for sure! Like Scott said, be mindful since you will be running on pavement and that pulls up extra heat as well. But you guys will have so much fun!!!!

    Ok this rain is getting old. Got up to run this morning and I could see the lightning thru the window. This is getting ridiculous. :angry:

    @10dedfish I agree!!!! Little rain here this morning, BUT THE HUMIDITY :donald: :darn: :angry:
    Cut my run short….AGAIN….at 4 and just walked the last mile. It’s just so oppressive!!!
    How many days till winter???

    Good luck to you and Christy on the Castaway Cay run! They should just make the finish line where the surf breaks the beach!
    LOL

    @missingwdw At least you got to run. Maybe I can get one in this evening

    @10dedfish hope you get that run in tonight. I thought about running last night. The humidity is always less, but I don’t think my legs can carry me through a run later in the day. My body starts to shut down around 4 o’clock.

    Christy and I got a paced workout in yesterday evening when the heat wasn’t too bad and the humidity was down to about 80% instead of the usual 100% :P

    We had an average pace of 12’01″/mile over 30 minutes to make a distance just shy of 2.5 miles. Not too shabby! :)

    Only 2 more POSSIBLE runs before the Castaway Cay 5K! :cool: All depends on the weather…

    What a difference a “little” drop in humidity can make! This mornings run was 82% when I started and 79% when I finished. WHAT???? Usually the humidity increases during my runs! I wasn’t nearly as sweaty and nasty when I was done, which was another sweet bonus!
    I imagined myself looking like :poca: when I ran, although I’m sure it was still more like :animal:
    :goofy:
    Now, if the weather would only stay this way until the fall…..
    :up: :up: :up: :up: :up:

    @missingwdw holy cow! You did fantastic! Look at those negative splits, you are so fast! Great job, I’m proud of you!

    I’M SO EXCITED! Went to the running store and found some new kicks! Still sticking with Brooks Ghost. Ohh-emm-gee!!! The ghost 11 felt fantastic on my feet!!! Sadly, they’ve been moving so fast off the shelf, the store is having trouble keeping them in stock, so they had to order my size. No biggie, since I still have about another 50 miles to go on my old ones. But, will I be able to keep the new ones in the box once I get them?????
    LOL
    Doubtful…..
    ❤️ them!!

    @10dedfish I’m so sorry the weather and rain are messing with your running! I hope you are able to get out there again soon!

    @RocketEAR99
    Look at the humidity break! LOL But it really had to feel better than the 100% humidity you had been dealing with! Great pace too!!! Almost cruising time!!!!

    @missingWDW
    Wow!! Fantastic run and pace!! I’m glad the humidity was dropping during your run instead of increasing! That had to feel so nice! And look at those amazing negative splits too!!! And eek!! I love getting new shoes too! Bummer that you had to order them in. That’s pretty much what I always have to do! But it’s because I wear an inconvenient size for women. My running shoes are typically a 10.5! Many companies don’t even offer it. But thankfully Brooks does. But I never find them in store, so I have to order them. I’m glad you will get them in before your other ones die on you! And no, I don’t think that you will hold on trying out your new shoes. ;)
