AnonymousXP@rocketear99 feels good to get a PR: they don’t happen all that often – relish in your accomplishment!

10dedfish177 XPYesterday I got in my paced workout. I can’t believe it, but my time improved again! In 30 minutes I went 2.52 miles for an average pace of 11’55″/mile – my all-time fastest in paced trail workouts!
@rocketear99 great job!June 13, 2018 at 3:17 pm #79935Awesome job @rocketear99! That is absolutely terrific!
June 14, 2018 at 9:46 am #79959Trial run preparing for the June runDisney 5K. Did 3.01 miles in 32:28 for 10’47” pace. Hoping to get below 10’/mile for the race so I think I’m in striking distance with a few more trials. As I was just about to post this I thought – oh yeah, they might sell out, I better check. They did! I should have listened to @starbee

June 14, 2018 at 9:48 am #79960I am so behind again!
@rocketear99 Way to go on your continuous improvement!
@10dedfish Great job taking control of your life! sorry you hate your job I completely understand, while my current job drives me nuts a lot of the time, I wouldn’t say I hate it, but I have been in a job that I did hate and my husband legitimately thought it was making me clinically depressed. I hope you can either find something new or that your current situation will improveTo anyone else I missed – GO TEAM D-COT!
June 14, 2018 at 9:59 am #79969I escaped PT on Saturday, to be honest it really doesn’t bother me to PT, my only issue is they usually don’t let us stretch and warm up properly. Everyone else had to PT but I was busy doing paperwork to get my training dates. (Still nothing on that front by the way). I was exhausted from the weekend so I didn’t run on Monday, but ran Tuesday instead with hubby. I ran 1.5 miles to see how my time was coming along. My time was 15:17 so I wasn’t happy with that. I was running against 13 mph headwinds but I’m not sure that’s an excuse for such a bad time.
Yesterday I got out again and tried to pace myself to finish the 1.5 miles in 14:00 which is my goal time before shipping out. I did 0.75 miles in 6:52 but then I was pretty out of breath and had to walk. I was a little disappointed that I had to stop BUT I am super hopeful that I will be making that time pretty soon because I have a plan: I will keep running each lap in 2:20, starting by running 3 laps which I know I can already do, and then I’ll increase my distance by 1 lap a week until I’m running 6 laps in 14:00. I need to keep up with my endurance so I need to figure out a balance.
After yesterday’s run I spent the entire day standing up making trial notebooks so my legs were really achy and my back hurt by the time I got home. I decided to take today off of running to avoid potential injury. I’ve also put Rock Tape on one of my calves because it was hurting so bad last night. I’m not used to standing like that for so long. When I sat down for dinner last night and stood up again my legs really hurt. I haven’t felt like that since last summer when I worked a convention! I plan to get an endurance run in tomorrow morning.

10dedfish177 XPJune 15, 2018 at 6:53 am #80048Great job @10dedfish! Good luck on your long runs this weekend!
June 15, 2018 at 10:25 am #80058@starbee Sorry you’re not reaching your goals like you hoped and that you’re so sore, but I like your plan to reach your goal moving forward! And I like your taking a day off to keep from injury. Looks like you’re on the right track!
June 15, 2018 at 10:27 am #80059@10dedfish I find it amusing that your “took it easy” pace is just shy of my personal best Anyway great job!

10dedfish177 XPWhat you didn’t see was the years it took me to get to this point! I struggled to run a 5k months after I started running.
June 15, 2018 at 10:32 am #80061Again very pleased to announce the accomplishment of another short-term goal yesterday! Completed my 3rd consecutive 1.5-mile run and with a time improvement! I was shocked when I saw my time had improved so much especially given the circumstances. The humidity was down and the wind was up so it was sunny and dry and my throat was struggling with that. Also I got a side stitch when I got to 1 mile, so then I was struggling to run through the pain. Still can’t argue with results! Next goal is 2 miles!
Distance: 1.50 miles
Time: 0:14:51
Pace: 9’54″/mileJune 15, 2018 at 10:44 am #80062Yea! Great job @rocketear99! I’m so glad you are meeting those goals! Stinks about the side stitch though, but way to work through!
