@eeyorepoohfan Glad you got your workout in, but sorry your legs were all knotted up. I’ve been there before and it is no fun :(

Yesterday I did a 30-minute paced workout. Lately I’ve been running for 30 extra seconds spread out over the paced workout instead of walking. Sunday that, coupled with the mud and humidity, actually slowed my overall pace. This time it was less humid, but more muddy. It was difficult to keep traction in places on the trail, but I still went 2.45 miles for a 12:16 average pace :)

I like the end result, but it would be nice to run on dryer/harder ground again.

Great job @rocketear99! I sure hope it dries out soon for you so you aren’t sloshing through the mud all the time. You did fantastic!

@nascfan Thank you!! It took a couple of adjustments, recovery drinks and electronic muscle stim to calm my back and legs down. Doing better today but used today to rest!

@RocketEAR99 Thank you!! Thankfully my legs feel much better today! My back had completely locked up on my yesterday from cleaning the office and the house. I have a wonky low back. Thankfully, Ryan knows how to get me realigned! It was a doozy last night though. We even had to pull out our electronic muscle stim machine and ice to get it to relax. I haven’t messed myself up that badly in a long while! And it’s very possible that my tightness in my legs contributed to my back being so tight. I used today as a rest day and just took Winnie for a 1.25 mile walk. I hope you get dryer ground soon for your runs and lower humidity levels! But you did fantastic!! My body only seems to like intervals of walking and running. If I keep trying to run farther without my walk breaks, my overall pace is much slower than if I just took a short walk break. I am going to try to see if I can break my body of that habit. But I think the hard thing for me is that since I always run half marathons, my brain and body are always in that long distance mode, even on a short run day. So it’s like my body is conserving energy for the long haul.

@eeyorepoohfan I am so glad to see that you are doing better today! I was concerned about you last night. And I’m also happy you took today as a rest day and just walked Winnie. I feel better about you after that. My shins are barking at me today after what I showed you I did yesterday!

@nascfan Thank you! Me too!! Yesterday was the worst I’ve been in quite a while. But I am much better today! I’m so sorry your shins are barking!! Do calf stretches and some icing! That should help!

Decided to get a run this afternoon, experience some heat and humidity during the day time for once. Best run I’ve had in a long time. I broke out some Jocko podcast and got in the zone. Clear, 77 and low humidity  .

Before the days get away from me…

I ran yesterday morning at 5:30am. Running in the neighborhood where there’s more light at that time in the morning. It was 68* and I did pretty good! I was pleased with my time and pace, I like to be as close to 11’00” as I can get. It was my second day to run after taking Tuesday and Wednesday off due to bad sinus/stress headaches. Hubby still says he’s sore so he didn’t come with me and I’m giving Leia a break from running because a couple of her pads are peeling a little. I don’t think it’s from running specifically, she was only going with me once, sometimes twice a week and while I’m running she is still at a walk pace :P we were taking her for a mile long walk almost every day (unless we ran) because that girl always wants to be outside! The vet said it looks fine, it’s not that bad, it’s not bleeding, and it’s not infected. She said it happens and she wouldn’t suggest curbing all exercise because Leia needs exercise. I’ve just decided to limit her to walks for now to give her a break.

    Total Time: 34:14
    Total Distance: 3.00
    Pace: 11’23”
