    @starbee don’t even be concerned about speed right now. You’re working on your endurance and getting to the time that you want/need. Speed will come once you reach that.

    Thanks pal! I am seeing improvement! I’m so happy to have finally found a training plan that works for me. I think if I keep sticking with it, I’ll reach my goal! The plan claims 5 weeks from now :surprised:

    So I jumped in a hockey game with a 4th grade class today and played hard for about a minute and a half. I was SO winded afterwards I thought I was dying. I’m planning on trying to go for a run/walk tomorrow. This should be interesting…..

    Set out nice and easy this morning. Didn’t cough at all during run but my legs were tired. Now that I stopped, the coughing has begun.

    Good job easing into it @missingwdw. I’m sure your legs felt tired but good that you didn’t cough during your run. Is it chilly there? The cold air just gives Kathy fits as she gets over her sinus infection. I hope yours clears up soon!

    It’s been a while since I have been on here. First happy dance because I completed the Dopey challenge!! I was so thankful and thrilled! I cried at mile 20 when I knew that I was going to make it, again when I got to the boardwalk, and finally when they hung the medal around my neck. My first ever marathon!! I completed it in just under 6 hours so I made my secondary goal too! I decided that I am not going to make any decisions about doing another marathon or Dopey challenge just yet. Too soon.

    I was invited to my home resort’s fun run that Wednesday morning. I went in with no expectations and ended up CRUSHING IT!!!

    I also decided to sign up for another half marathon. February 4 I will be competing in the Tallahasasee half marathon. Wish me luck as I have only been on one run since! I have been doing elliptical and strength training so not completely inactive. I’m planning on a long run this weekend.
