@starbee Way to get out there again!!!! You have really committed to your training! It’s crazy how a little breeze can make it feel so much colder!!! You did great on pacing and ratios!!! I’m glad you are taking a rest day before your 5k! I know you are going to do great!! Don’t worry if you can’t beat your last time. Just do your best! If you are used to your ratios, then use them! Sometimes being in a race environment peps you up and you can run longer or faster than usual. But be careful not to go out too fast or else you will burn out before the finish line. One foot in front of the other!!!!

@bexruns Oh that really stinks that the gym opens so late now!!! Do you have a place you can go at lunch or after work to climb stairs at least?

Too icy and dark this morning to run at home, so I went out during lunch instead.
    Fantastic run!
    Happy Friday dcot runners!!

@eeyorepoohfan Right?! I hope it’s not windy tomorrow! Thank you! Yes the surprise “smoking” last drill really woke me up to needing to try something new and get after it. I was running 3x a week but it clearly wasn’t the right type of training to build my endurance for basic. I hope I can stick with this one both mentally and physically. Yes, exactly! I’m thinking I may wing it because I don’t want to push myself to the max on ratios and then not being to repeat them if you see what I’m saying. If I can run for 21:00 but absolutely can’t run anymore and end up walking for 15 minutes afterwards, that may not be as good as stopping before I max out to walk for a while before getting back to the running. I’m so nervous! :surprised:

I am down for the count for several days. I am having horrible lung issues and body aches from the smoke in the air and the shaking of the pecan trees here. I feel like I’ve been hit by a bus. I’m very disappointed because this was our last long run before tapering for Dopey. We will try for just slightly longer runs next weekend if I’m up for it. But we are less than 3 weeks out to the start of :dopey: I know I am well trained and prepared. But it’s a little unnerving to not get one last long run in. But I know that I will get through it all just fine!! Just pray that I feel better very quickly! I plan to stay in bed all weekend to let my body heal.

Thanks! Weather was perfect! 26 degrees with 0 wind!!! It was my highest elevation too at 134 feet. I am finding that I just LOVE to run in the cold! I was so excited driving to work this morning knowing I was going out for a run later
    :P
