@starbee believe it or not, it stands a good chance of being cooler than what you just ran in!
But definitely the reason they only do the marathon in January! I’d LOVE for you to be able to do this, but your logic of not is sound and I can’t dispute you for that. @nascfan Surely you can’t be serious!
yeah I realized that. Clearly many people were not expecting those conditions! The guy behind me on the bus back to Pop got swept and I felt so bad

It really is entirely possible. April can be mild or hot. And it was so unusually hot for January, I don’t think anyone truly planned for those! I feel bad for that guy! All that training! I am serious, and don’t call me Shirley!

Actually now that I think about it, we were at Universal one year in jeans and hoodies, drinking hot chocolate at Cinnabon in CityWalk
yeah this guy was doing Dopey and said he just got too hot and couldn’t do it anymore. He got swept at mile 18. He got his marathon medal so he was happy about that but he said he’ll be registering for Dopey again because he really wants the two challenge medals. It’s hard when you can’t train in that heat. There was a guy from England who threw up at the end of the race and I’m not surprised because there’s no way he could have trained in temps that hot beforehand!
@starbee How nice of you to ask! It was a tough one (by far the hardest or of the 3 I’ve done) but I finished! I had some health issues and other craziness last year so I ran the full Dopey Challenge with no training whatsoever. I don’t recommend it, haha – but I got the bling and didn’t die so, #winning!
How did everyone else do?

I can’t believe you’ve done 3 Dopeys! 
this was a hot one! I’m sorry you’ve had health issues, I hope all is well now! I was pleased with how well Dopey went for me. It was my first runDisney race and first full marathon. I’m happy to say I didn’t struggle at any point, but the heat was pretty rough during the full. @starbee Well congrats to you as well! That’s pretty hardcore to make your first full marathon during a Dopey Challenge! Yeah the heat was brutal. All in all though I prefer this to my last Dopey where the highest temperature was 35°! (Don’t get me wrong, this was definitely too hot to run but I loved going to the pool and not wearing a coat to the parks afterwards!!)

that’s a very cold Dopey! I don’t enjoy running in the cold but I definitely perform better. Where did you stay this trip? @starbee At the Poly! It’s my DVC home resort but also the perfect hotel for Disney races because you can walk to the Epcot monorail. Oh, and Dole Whips
Where were you?@slaterama That’s awesome! I love the Poly! I’m jealous – I bet you didn’t have to get up anywhere near as early as I did each morning!
I stayed at Pop which I liked because it was close to Epcot and the Expo. @RocketEAR99 I had those dreams after Dopey too!! I love how we all made our appearances in yours! I totally cried at the finish of Dopey! I’ve cried at the finish of at least half of my half marathons too! Just so much emotion! Do Star Wars! We will likely be racing it again too! We are running it this year and will hit Perfect status! So why stop now!
@nascfan @eeyorepoohfan I put the bug in Christy’s ear about the Star Wars Half in April 2021. She was intrigued by the idea…So I’m saying there’s a chance!
@nascfan, I might also add she was extra intrigued when I mentioned your clan was planning on being there. Like me, she’s met two of three awesome D-COT moderators and wants to greet the whole set
