    I just saw on Facebook that Richard Gerth, the elderly greeter at the Grand Floridian, has passed away today. I’m so sorry to hear that. He was always so friendly! :( He will sure be missed!

    I never encountered him personally, but I always did notice him and knew he was something special. He will be greatly missed. :( :( :(

    No trip to “the Red Roof” was complete without having a wonderful chat with Richard. Such a kind and gentle soul and embodied the Disney spirit! :heart:

    Richard was one of the original Cast member at Grand Floridian, he puts a smile while every guest comes in to Grand Floridian. He is considered a veteran of the Legacy of the WDW Resort. He’ll be missed. :(

    I’ve never been to FL so obviously I’ve never met Richard but it’s really difficult to not tear up over the outpouring of love and support for this man and his family.

    Oh we saw him once with my Grandma when we went for tea. he was the sweetest man! so sad, but he did seem to really enjoy his time there, a happy time in his life :heart:
