Julia, if you and your mom have a free evening, check out Yeeha Bob at The Roost. This is a highly sought after bit of entertainment at WDW. People will grab seats and not leave but you can catch any parts of the show by standing if you want.

March 22, 2018 at 11:52 am #70473@breesmommy5 , rarely. There are some times, mainly off peak hours, that a FQ bus will go to RS before proceeding to the park. But FQ will always be first on and first off back at FQ. I don’t think MK buses ever share anymore. Hope that helps!
March 22, 2018 at 11:57 am #70474Ok thanks! @Nascafan, we got spoiled when we stayed at AOA, There the buses go straight to the parks with no other stops and I loved that !
March 22, 2018 at 12:06 pm #70475You shouldn’t find it any different at FQ really. It’s not often that they stop at RS also.
And I love how close these resorts are to MK! You enter past the big Welcome sign and car toll booths! Make sure to catch a glimpse of Golden Oak when going to and from MK.
Actually these resorts are very centrally located, not far from any park. They are very good, solid choices to stay at!March 22, 2018 at 4:16 pm #70525All of the moderate resorts are large and spread out, so they have multiple bus stops within the resort before that bus heads to its designated park. The only exception is French Quarter. They are the smallest resort and only have one bus stop. Occasionally French Quarter and Riverside share buses, but it will always pick up and drop off at French Quarter first. We’ve never encountered long lines for the boat. We’ve always been on the next available boat, never had to wait for a second one to arrive. The boat launch at Riverside is right by the food court. Once you are on a boat, it takes about 20 minutes to get to Disney Springs. The boat drop off/pick up is on the far side of Disney Springs near the old bus drop off/pick up. The food court is usually the last bus stop pickup in the morning. That makes it popular with families. However, buses are sometimes pretty full by the time they arrive at that stop, unless they bring in an empty bus. If you catch the bus stop by your room, you will likely get on a bus easier, but you do have to circle and stop at all stops around the resort.
March 22, 2018 at 4:22 pm #70526That is what I am really excited about, being able to take boats ! the kids are pretty excited about that too !
March 22, 2018 at 4:24 pm #70528I’m staying here for the first time this June! I visited this resort once before, but it was still Dixie Landings back then and I may or may not have been an infant at the time. Anyway, I managed to snag a room with a King Size bed. Does anyone know if those rooms are more likely to have a good view or be in a certain spot of the building? No biggy if not, just curious.
King rooms are offered with all view options. So it will be a luck of the draw on which one you get! It doesn’t mention parking lot view, so you should be clear of that for a view! Our friends had a King room last year and they looked at a wall because they were by a staircase. Just beyond the wall was a quiet pool. So you really can be anywhere and see anything. You won’t be located in the Royal Guest Room area either.

The boat to/from Disney Springs is one of the main reasons we LOVE staying at Riverside! It’s a nice relaxing 20 minute ride one way!

It is such a fun and relaxing ride! It’s one of our favorite things about POFQ, and both PO resorts really.

We always take the boat when we go to eat at the Grand Floridian from Magic Kingdom, its so relaxing and I could stay on that boat all day
March 22, 2018 at 8:59 pm #70559There are four different bus stops just for Riverside. The last stop is at the front entrance.
We’ve stayed at Riverside, French Quarter and Pop and we prefer French Quarter. Problem is, we have 3 kids so we can’t stay at French Quarter unless grandparents come with us. So, we usually stay at Riverside. We try to stay in a building close to the first bus stop otherwise you’ll probably be standing in a jam packed bus by the time it gets to your stop. It also makes for long lines at the Riverside pick-up at the parks.
Ooh that’s a good idea, i’ll ask my mom to tell our travel agent. we’re going like the second week of september so i’m hoping it’s not going to be supeeer busy

March 23, 2018 at 8:53 am #70603when we were there they were doing some construction so the bus stop order had no rhyme or reason…it seemed to change daily and once our bus driver even got stuck and had to make like a 10 point turn to get out. it was actually quite funny!
September is the quietest time of year at Disney…all the kids are back at school and even us fanatics don’t take our kids out 2 weeks after school starts. the crowds will be low and you should have a great time.
The boat was nice (not cramped and standing room only like the bus) but it sure can be cold with the wind! not that you will have that problem in September
March 23, 2018 at 8:59 am #70605We were there last September, and we LOVED IT! We stayed in the Alligator Bayou buildings in the preferred sections – which is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED> I’d say spend the extra money to get a preferred building because you’re just a hop skip and a jump to food and busses and the bar Our bed was SO comfortable – we have stayed at numerous WDW resorts, and agreed that the beds at Alligator Bayou were super comfy! The food court and the gift shop were typical WDW resort style, and had everything that you could possibly need. Yeeeeears ago, me and my 2 boys stayed in the Mansion section right over the bridge from Ole Man Island, and we liked that room also. However, if I had to choose… I’d stay in Alligator Bayou again…. we LOVED the theming! It was so peaceful to walk around the resort… truly beautiful! We would totally stay there again!
