    Hi Everyone,
I hope I’m putting this topic/question in the right place, my apologies if not.. :) My daughters and I are going to try out the DVC by renting points for our next trip at the Poly. It looks like there are three DVC longhouses and although I know locations requests are just that… requests.. we’re trying to get some ideas of where is best and will be trying to put in preferences… From what I’ve researched it seems like Tokelau seems centrally located and that the third floor (pool facing) will sometimes have water/castle views. Does anyone have any tips? We’ve never stayed at the Poly. Thanks in advance!! :)

I’ve never stayed at the Poly, but it’s on my bucket list! I was just replying to say you posted in the right place

The Poly is one of our home resorts with DVC. It has been my favorite property since I was a little one so when they opened up ownership there we jumped all over it. That being said, the DVC villas can be a bit of a trek from the GCH. When we were there it may have been quicker to walk to the TTC! I would definitely request as close a room as possible to the GCH if you are looking for convenience. However, the number one recommendation I would have for you is to request a top floor room if you are in a lake view studio. We were located on the first floor (I had requested a second story room) and we had an amazing view of the bungalows!

While the view could have been better, we still enjoyed our stay and the Poly never fails to impress with its decor and location.

    Hope this helps!

On our last trip we did 1 night at Poly on points in a lake view studio. My parents came and had a separate lake view studio. We were all in the the Moorea building. We requested to be off the ground floor and both of us got that. We got a 2nd floor room and my parents got a 3rd floor room. We had a very nice view, able to see over the bungalows and out to the castle. The bungalows only slightly obstructed our view. My parents’ 3rd floor view was even better.

In short, Moorea lake view studio – 3rd floor if you can, 2nd floor is reasonably good too. 1st floor – no.

I will also add that we LOVED our stay there and can’t wait to try it again for a longer stay.

Poly is our home resort. We’ve only owned for a little over a year, and only used our points for a Thanksgiving stay in 2016. Based on purchase timing, etc., we only booked ~5 months out so that stay was at Saratoga Springs. All that being said, we’re staying at Poly coming up in August. Due to this, I’ve done a fair amount of research about room request locations, etc. From my understanding, if you’ve got Lake View, you’ll be in Moorea, and as others have mentioned, higher floors are better. If you have a Standard View, you can either go for Pago Pago to be closer to the TTC, or you can go with Tokeleau. If you go Tokeleau, the general recommendation is West Side, higher floor. The further toward the North end of the building, the better the sideways Castle View is.
