guys, those are all great shots. and you’re absolutely right – always good to have any kind of camera with you, even if all you can do is give yourself a reminder of what you saw.

Great little photo! The lens is just fine, subject looks nice and poses well, background is nice and unobtrusive. Lighting on her face is nice and soft, too.

Yeah, if the highlights are blown out, so what? My suggestion would be to consider umbrellas and/or reflectors. A person who does contract photography for us uses a golden reflector and assistant to light up the face with a warm light. The one thing he doesn’t do is use an umbrella to soften the sunlight coming in, which seems to result in enough squinty farmers in his shots…
