Opening up resort pool

I have this memory of when I was little of my sister “opening” the Contemporary pool. I don’t really remember much except they gave her a wand and wrote her name on a dry erase board. I tried googling it to see if they still do this but google wasn’t any help. Does anyone know what I’m talking about?

I don’t know about the Contemporary … but about 6 years ago, when my daughter & niece were at AKL Kidani when the pool opened, the cast members sent a bunch of inflatable toys down the slide & they were able to keep one each!
