    Sunday 10/14/18

We knew we were going to have a late night and really tried to sleep in a bit. Yeah, didn’t happen. Our first visit to Magic Kingdom this trip, I guess we were just too excited! We had our first Mickey Waffles of the trip and strolled into MK about 8:30, leisurely taking in the Emporium and picking up a few Christmas gifts. We got to see the autumn trolley show which is extremely cute and then went down the side street where we heard the dance studio on the second floor giving a lesson. It’s such a hidden gem to go down there and listen! We made our way to the hub and stood just off center for a good view of the welcome show. We had no rush so we casually strolled, or should I say moseyed over to Splash Mountain where we were on one of the first logs of the day! In looking at the Photopass pictures later I saw that Kelly and Cammie were just a few minutes behind us! We looked in Memento Mori for Kathy’s Haunted Mansion wallet that she wanted to get but no luck. I did get some pictures around the portrait area for Carolyn and we also checked out Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe. We then went back and rode Under the Sea with Ariel for the first time of the trip. Our FP time for 7DMT was open now but it was down. So we tried to go ride Dumbo, but our side went down just before we would board. Ugh! A little frustrating but we were trying to make the best of it by just being in our happy place! So we rode Teacups with no spin for Kathy. I’ve come to really like that, it’s so relaxing! In keeping with our relaxing theme of the day we rode Peoplemover for two circuits. We found out Heather and Ryan were just a few groups in front on our second circuit! Great minds do think alike! We met up with them after and all used our FP for Haunted Mansion. On our way over we saw Kelly and Cammie! They were going to just do another ride or two and go back to go swimming for a bit. It was so hot we couldn’t blame them! We would find out later that the high today would reach 91 degrees! We got to see a magic moment happen right in front of us at the Photopass stop upon exiting HM as we witnessed a marriage proposal! It was so awesome and so cute! How can you not have a great day after seeing that! 7DMT was now up so we went to do that while Heather and Ryan used their Big Thunder FP. Heather scored a 4th for Jungle Cruise to match ours while in the queue! I was so happy, I was previously feeling a little sad we might not get to ride that with them this trip! Especially as much as Heather and I love it and think we’re hilarious and should be skippers! Unfortunately with being down earlier we had to wait longer than planned for 7DMT but they were very patient and waited for us by Jungle Cruise. Our skipper Olivia was awesome! She was on top of it and we all had a great cruise!

There wasn’t really time to ride something else so we browsed a bit in a few shops, including stopping in at the jewelers to check for the HM wallet for Kathy, and then met back up with Heather and Ryan on the porch of Crystal Palace and I checked us in. We were fairly early but it worked out great as they seated us about 15 to 20 minutes earlier than our ADR! This was going to work great for a break! We also eat a lot for a very long time so it was a double good thing! LOL Oh my gosh did we have a great lunch with incredible interactions with the characters! We got to see my Tigger right away, just as we were getting to our table! We even got to see Pooh and Tigger both twice due to the way things worked out! We even got Pooh bear to do a little photo session on his second visit for Lauren! It was just such a wonderful time with Heather and Ryan, excellent interactions, and everything was delicious and we left there so stuffed I was surprised we could walk! As we waddled out, Heather and Ryan went back home to POFQ while we rode the monorail around to Grand Floridian for our break. Since meeting the seven dwarfs was on Kathy’s must-do list we knew we didn’t have time to head back home to Pop. It worked out well though, we found some couches and chairs on the second floor of GF and took a nice park and foot break for about an hour. It felt good to just sit and chill in the a/c and away from the park! I filled the mug and we headed back to MK about 4:20. It was pretty easy entry for the party as the first rush was already in. We got pics in the bypass and our first candy bag and headed back to where the dwarfs were going to be to sit and wait. Kathy went to check out the party merchandise in the Storybook Circus Tent and we took turns using the restroom and it really wasn’t long before they moved us inside to the a/c. Oh it was so nice with them meeting inside this year! Heather and Ryan joined us just after we got moved inside and we had fun chatting before they came out. We found out that Kelly had accidentally locked her keys in the car so they weren’t going to make it to meet the dwarfs. Oh I felt so bad for her! They started meeting about 6:30 and we were very near the front so it wasn’t long before we got to meet them. And we still had some time before the party then too! Kelly and Cammie were finally able to arrive so we met them at Storybook Circus (thank you AAA!). They were just the cutest as Sully and Boo with a Mike Wazowski bag! We headed over to the Fantasyland train station as the party would start in just about 10 minutes, getting ready for our first trick or treat stop. Cammie really wanted to see Vampirina and they happened to have her dance party going on a little early so we sent those two over while we kept their bag and waited. They opened up the station in just a couple minutes, also early so we were able to hit that while they checked out the goings on, it was perfect! We were walking into the next T or T spot of Ariel’s Grotto just as the Ghost Host announced the start of the party! This was great! A meet, dance party, T or T station and a half all out of the way before the party even officially started! We worked our way around through Fantasyland and stopped for some quick photopass along the way. I really liked the Philharmagic spot with the movie they had playing! A great spot to rest tired feet if you needed it! We got to the HM area and Heather and Ryan showed us the magic shots there, they were awesome! Guiding and helping us all the way, we didn’t have to wait hardly at all for the magic shots! We only missed one T or T spot, Columbia Harbour House because that one was packed. Working back to front really works great! While on the way around through Adventureland Kathy and I made sure to get the Hitchhiking Ghosts dessert, something else on her must-do list. We met up with the rest of our crew in line for Tarzan and Jane which was great! Cammie was so funny asking Tarzan why he couldn’t buy clothes! We worked our way around and Heather and Ryan had the brilliant idea of stopping out front for the headless horseman magic shot. It was great! There was literally no one out there! The ride waits were elevated which seems to be where everybody was, which was fine with me! It felt like a delightfully uncrowded party! After we finished up out front, Heather and Ryan lined up for Space Mountain in the dark while us four met Lotso with very minimal wait. This was where we made up for missing the one T or T spot in Columbia also. There was really no one at the CoP one so we just did that twice! ???? The youngest and oldest girls of the group needed a foot break by this time so the four of us rode the Peoplemover for two circuits, Kathy and my second double of the day! After getting off that, since Kelly and Cammie were Disney bounding as Sully and Boo, we just had to stop at the Monsters Inc dance party in Tomorrowland! Kelly handed me her phone and I followed her around like paparazzi, snapping photo after photo as she danced and had a great time with the monsters! The first parade was still going on so we worked our way around back by Tomorrowland Speedway, hitting the last couple T or T stations. I really wish we had been able to connect back up with Heather and Ryan, that was the only bad part of the party. I missed them the rest of the night. But Kelly was so grateful to us for helping her with Cammie and we did have a great time with them! Haunted Mansion wait times were still up so we headed to the hub where we found a great spot right in front of Partners for Hallowishes, just 15 minutes before they started! That shows how uncrowded it was, 10 to 15 minutes before and spots still available! I really like this area since it’s not only higher than surrounding but the 180 degree fireworks really enveloped us. Such a great show! We held our spots for a couple minutes after and as people started to filter out we moved to the front of the center hub hill for the Hocus Pocus stage show. This was the one we missed a couple years ago. We only had about 10 minutes to wait for that too. It was such a great show! I’m so glad we were pretty much right in the center for this! We were right at the edge of the “street” so we just stayed right there for the second parade, no one in front of us! The headless horseman when he rode by, literally within arm’s reach! (if we wouldn’t have gotten kicked out!) Boo to You really is the best parade in my opinion! In texting Heather I found out they were watching from Liberty Square, and they hauled butt after it passed them, going the back way, and beat the front of the parade at City Hall to get out! Great job Heather and Ryan! Kelly and Cammie, well, mainly Cammie, were totally done after the parade so we said goodnight as they headed out and Kathy and I made our way to Haunted Mansion for the final ride of the night, knowing we’d get on as long as we were in line. It wasn’t a horrible wait and the final Hocus Pocus show, which started at midnight, was still going on as we left the park. Home and in bed by 1:30 after a very fun day and night!

This was such a fun day!! I still can’t believe we were on the People Mover at the same time and didn’t know it! I loved our lunch with Pooh and friends! So yummy and so much food!! The party was so much fun!!! I’m glad we helped you to navigate it quickly! I’m bummed we didn’t get to meet back up too. But I’m glad we all ended up having a fun night!

Our great minds really do think alike! We are such twinsies!
If this was my Groundhog Day that would be the one thing I would change, that we would be able to meet back up. I really missed you the rest of the night. I was thinking while we were waiting for the parade, “I wish Heather and Ryan were with us. That would make it perfect.”

Wow that certainly was a long day! I do love that you just “mosied” around for the day. And what a great idea to just hit a monorail hotel for a break! I’ll have to use that idea in future trips :)

Please feel free to use any of our ideas! Best thing about long trips is being able to not rush anywhere! A truly long but so fun day!

A nice MK day! Although boo to the two rides going down, but it sounds like you made the most of it regardless.
Great timing on the Peoplemover! You two are quite the team! LOL :pooh: :tigger:
ADRs are so weird! We’ve been let in a half hour early before, but we’ve never tried to get in earlier. You’d think they wouldn’t let you in, but at least it always works out for the better! And it sounds like you had a blast at Crystal Palace! :pooh: :tigger:
The GF does have some really nice furniture! Smart thinking on a break there!
Great going on the party! I can’t believe you got all that done before it officially began!!! :ghost:
Arms reach from the Headless Horseman?!?! Woah, that’s so awesome!!!!

We really do make a wonderful team!
We were SO close to him! Kathy, Kelly, and Cammie were sitting on the curb area and I was right behind them. CM’s came along a few times and asked to make sure all arms and legs were behind the line when he came through because he was going to be very close to us, then we could stretch out after. I truly think we just about could have touched him!
