    Sunday 10/21/18

We finished up packing our last minute items and dropped our bags off before our last breakfast of Mickey waffles. Oh how I’m going to miss those! Things went smoother and quicker than we expected and we were to Magic Kingdom right about 8:00 to just enjoy Main Street. I think we took the slowest walk ever up Main Street, just enjoying our last morning at Home. We had really run out of things to rope drop, I know, hashtag FirstWorldDisneyProblems right? So we decided to go ahead with Big Thunder since we had only ridden that once this trip. We were in row 13! The absolute furthest back ever for Kathy! The only problem is that it’s very shaky back there and it gave her a bit of a headache with all the jostling. So I think row 10ish is about the furthest back we’ll go in the future, which is still pretty good! We rode Under the Sea one more time, with no wait, to give ourselves a head break. We then used our FP for 7DMT one more time and said goodbye to our cottage on the way out. Her head was doing better so we took a relaxing Teacup ride with no wait and then went up and rode the Peoplemover for two circuits again. It’s so nice to do that and we got quite a few of those in this trip! We used our FP for one more go around with the 999 happy haunts on Haunted Mansion and got a nice snack of waffle with strawberries and whipped cream at Sleepy Hollow. That has become a delicious tradition for us! After our snack it was time to head to Jungle Cruise for our FP. While in the queue for a few minutes I was able to get a Winnie the Pooh FP with immediate return. I enjoyed a few minutes in the queue listening to the music and thinking of all our D-Cotters. We had a great skipper again! They are just knocking it out of the park lately! After our final cruise of the trip we went over to use our FP for Pooh. I texted Heather again when we were almost to the front so Team Pooh Tigger could mentally ride together one more time! While in the queue I got an immediate return FP for Dumbo. Five fastpasses in a morning? Yes please! After exiting our Pooh ride we took one final ride with the cutest flying elephant ever! It really was a nice final ride of the trip, one that always makes me so happy. I mean, how can you not be happy flying with Dumbo? ???? We enjoyed a final lunch of nachos at Pecos Bills, they were no Mexico (nothing is) but they were still so very good! And very filling! This was just a perfect final half day! And boy did we need it after what happened last night. It allowed us to end the trip on just the happiest and most magical of notes! We slowly made our way out, saying our goodbyes to Cinderella Castle and Magic Kingdom. As we were leaving the park When You Wish Upon a Star was playing. Appropriate song as being at WDW with my love of my life certainly makes all of my dreams come true and this nice long 10 day trip was totally a dream come true! A bus for Pop pulled up just as we were walking up to the stop. We gathered our carry-ons from bell services and filled our mug and were able to find a quiet spot to relax for just a bit in an alcove off the lobby before Tragical Express pulled up. I had picked up some sort of bug over the past day and was feeling it by now so it felt good to just chill. Fortunately it was the end of the trip, so that’s pretty long to go without either of us coming down with anything dealing with that many people. By flight time I was really feeling it! The cough still lingers a bit to this day!

Once at MCO, security was pretty backed up until a TSA agent told us that the other end was pretty clear and they both dumped out to the same place. You should have seen the stampede! Once through we grabbed a small bite to eat at Burger King before boarding an on time flight back. Kathy finished Solo and I napped most of the way since I was not only tired from the trip but really run down from whatever it was that I had picked up. The kids picked us up and helped with the luggage, we had been able to curtesy check both carry ons in Orlando. As hot as the trip was, it was equally as cold upon arrival back! It was in the 30’s! Talk about a shock to the system! But Lauren had the heat on in the vehicle for us and we chatted about the trip on the drive and were home before we knew it.

Final thoughts: It was a great 10 days! Our longest trip and we had a wonderful time! It was such a fun D-Cot meet, filled with wonderful new people and familiar people alike. I can never get enough time with Heather and Ryan! And it was so much fun to be able to spend a good amount of time with Kelly and Cammie too! It was so awesome to meet unofficially too, Robyn and Stephen both! We got to do so much fun new stuff too! Our second MNSSHP was a huge success and blast, and the Wild Africa Trek was so much fun! Perhaps the best new thing was Return to Sleepy Hollow, oh my gosh, if I was a local that would totally be a new Halloween time tradition! Worth every penny! It certainly felt like the hottest trip ever, but we really can’t complain, we slept through the only rain of the trip! We’ve had much wetter trips so we will happily accept that! I am a bit sad they don’t do the red cards anymore. It was always a fun competition to see who would get the most of those a trip. Finally, this was a very good and successful use of our second Annual Pass go-around. I got five trips out of it! Counting up the park days it wound up costing just over $21 a day to enter the parks! Just can’t beat that! We now look forward to April and our second runDisney race, for the Light Side Star Wars! If you’ve stuck with me through all of my ramblings, thank you. I hope I brought a little Disney magic into your day!

    Miles: 8.79
    Wheel Spin: I don’t remember! Probably a 5

I love your hashtag!! #firstworldproblems indeed!! LOL But it’s a very good problem to have! I love your final morning! Lots of rides ridden and still had time to stroll and enjoy the atmosphere! I love your tradition of a waffle with strawberries snack! I can totally get behind that!! The Jungle Cruise skippers have been awesome lately, haven’t they?! I haven’t had a dull/bad one in quite a while. I loved mentally riding along to :pooh: :tigger: with you!!! I’m so sorry you came down with some sort of bug! I hope Ryan didn’t share with you! But I honestly don’t know that he was contagious because I never caught it, and I’m usually the one that will. I’m so so so very happy that your trip ended on a happy and positive note! Perfect exit song on Main Street AND your bus pulling up right away! Talk about a relaxing and happy end to the trip! BRRRR! You totally had a harsh temperature reality check when you got back home. I loved reading your trip reports so very much!!! I love spending time with you and Kathy too! And Ryan does too. ;) I didn’t know they didn’t give out red cards anymore! I wonder how they come up with the wait times now? You really did make the most out of your AP for sure! Plus the room and merchandise discounts you had! I can’t wait for April!!

I’m glad you like our snack tradition! ;) The skippers have been great lately! I just love it when you can mentally ride with us! And I’m really glad you guys like spending time with us as much as we like spending it with you!
Ryan didn’t give me anything, don’t even give that a second thought. I’m sure it was the other 40,000 people touching everything! No way did Ryan pass anything. Too big of a gap.
The kids noticed no red cards in September. Where they used to have them hanging, they are no more. Best we’ve got is they use random magic bands now. They can pick one as it goes through the entrance and then again upon entering the ride vehicle. Accurate, but less fun to those of us who liked the red cards!
We did save just a ton in room and merchandise too!
I cannot wait to see you in April! :pooh: :tigger:

Oh my gosh, what a great last day, I can just feel the slow stroll up main street on the way in. just listening to the music. There and the beginning of Epcot, when I hear that music it just transforms me. Almost made me teary just thinking about it. :( But such a great trip it turned out to be, I hope to be able to afford a nice long one in the future. so that if something does go amiss one day, there are so many others to make up for it. and to be able to take your time with it all! very nice

OK off to read your Trek posting :) I am sure that was incredible!

I definitely approve of your snack tradition! It has fruit, so it’s healthy!!!! ;) I love mentally riding along! We do love spending time with you guys! I think you are right that Ryan didn’t get you sick. There was quite a gap. But I’m still sad you got sick. That’s sad about the red cards! I hadn’t even noticed that they weren’t hanging there anymore! That would make sense on the magic bands to track it though. Then they don’t have to worry about someone dropping it, passing it off to someone or forgetting to turn it in. I can’t wait to see you in April!

@eeyorepoohfan once again, I love the way you think! Fruit, healthy, we had fruit for a snack! Anytime I can have you mentally along for a ride, it makes it just that much more perfect! The only thing better is when we are truly together! Aww, thank you, you are so sweet! I am so much better now. The lingering last bit of cough is almost completely gone. It is easier to track the magic bands I’m sure. It also saves people like us fighting over the red cards! LOL

I love the way I think too!!! It was totally a fruit snack!! You just needed a sturdy vessel, so that’s where the waffle came in to play! ;) I love when we get to ride attractions together too! But mentally is still good! I’m glad that your cough has pretty much cleared out. Ryan still gets a very random little coughing fit. But those are finally few and far between. But he has noticed a struggle in his breathing after runs with the high pollen counts. So I think he’s still healing up a bit. I’m sure it is easier to track magic bands. But it was so fun to watch you guys fight it out!! LOL

It just takes forever for it to fully go away. I notice mine more in the cold too, some evenings. We are, or were, pretty funny!

How did you have that problem? Even I, as someone who lives there, never has a problem figuring out what to rope drop! But BTMRR is a very good choice!
All in all, that really does sound like such an amazing morning! What a great way to round off the trip! You really can’t be unhappy with Dumbo! I maybe possibly potentially got misty eyed at the end of MK…may have
Sorry you got the bug! Although I’m glad it was right as the trip ended rather than on! That is such a huge temp jump! I’m sure that didn’t help your bug out :(
I really enjoyed reading these (when I actually got around to it! :P )!!!! I especially loved all your adventures with the D-Cotters. We truly have an awesome community!
I can’t wait for April now! I just absolutely love reading these!…oh yeah, and I like it when you’re happy and in the parks too :stitch:

Because we had rope dropped every headliner we wanted, and less-liners! I’m not complaining though! LOL
It was a great trip, thank you for making time to read them! Can’t wait for April!
