Oh my gosh. this breaks my heart. I was just there, inside that amazing cathedral, less than a year ago. So much history gone in such a small amount of time. I hope they’re able to salvage some of it.

This is so devastating! I’ve never been, always wanted to go. I can’t believe how out of control this got! Watching live feed of it now, with the night sky and this red sky from the flames. It makes my heart hurt!

They said they were able to save the art pieces (or at least the priceless ones) and are able to save the rest of the building. I hope so!

I pray for Notre Dame to be rebuild of the spire, i’m glad nobody wasn’t hurt.

The next morning after the awful fire, it seems the a fireman was injured in the process of evacuating the relics within, no comment on his condition as of yet. There are a number of pictures at the link below, despite how bad it looks the important thing here is the outer fabric its self, with it being stone it seems to have stood up well to the fire, its sad to see 800+ years of history go up in flames. it seems that donations are going in already for the reconstruction, sad thing is i’ll bet it’ll end up costing £500+ million to get it back as close to how it was as possible.

Can you imagine being the person responsible for burning down Notre Dame by accident? I wouldn’t be surprised if someone were smoking on the job. They smoke like there’s no tomorrow in France.
