Sunday August 18th:
6:45am alarm. Out to the bust stop at 8:30am. We had pastries in our room. Ryan ran to fill his mug while I waited in the bus line since we weren’t going to fit on the first bus. I realized I forgot to put on deodorant and texted Ryan so after he filled his mug he ran to our room and grabbed it for me and he still beat the next bus! On our bus at 8:45am. Dropped off at AK just after 9am. Dinosaur as a walk on. Everest FP at 9:45am Then standby with a posted 35 minute wait but was just 25 min. Then we grabbed a Simba Sunset which is a Dole Whip with a watermelon, strawberry and coconut syrup and I got a standard Dole Whip at Tamu Tamu at 10:30am. It was already hot out and this really hit the spot! Used our Safari FP at 10:45am. We had a great driver named Robert that gave us tons of new info. We saw a Rino in the water and 5 more just hanging out together. There were two male elephants together hanging out pretty close, though one was napping. All of the young giraffes were together, 4 in total. We then grabbed Starbucks before heading to Flame Tree for ribs and onion rings. Then off to use our FoP FP at 12:45pm, standby was 170. Then we took the train to Rafiki’s at 1:15pm. We did the Animation Academy at 1:45pm and we drew Scar. Booked a 3:30-3:45pm FP for Lion King. We took the train back at 2:25pm. We got an ice cream bar and ice cream sandwich. Ate it inside Pizzafari to enjoy the AC because the heat index was 102*! Grabbed iced teas at SB and then went to our Lion King FP for the 4pm show. We were feeling hot and tired. So we took a bus to FQ to get dinner and dessert. At the bus stop just before 5pm and waited less than 10 minutes. I had a pulled pork rice bowl, it was huge and should have gotten the kids size. Ryan had the shrimp Poe Boy sandwich with homemade chips. We got beignets for dessert. It was all so good! We then took the boat to DS. We walked all the Disney shops and strolled to the bus stop. Waited less than 10 minutes and got the new Goofy bus! It has nice new seats, floors and USB charging plug ins by the seats. Back to Pop at 8:45am Filled our mug and back to our room to stretch out. Lights out at 10:15pm.

April 18, 2020 at 4:02 pm #130521Either Ryan is really fast or the buses are slow But way to go Ryan!!!!
Love that Dinosaur was a walk-on!
How cool that you got to draw Scar!!! Overall, what did you think of the Animation Experience??? Would love to hear your thoughts…or complaints…
Gah!!! August was so hot!!! Such bad heat indexes!!!!
Love how you stopped at FQ for dinner and beignets!!!!!
Glad you got to ride one of the new buses!!! They’re so cool!!!!! (pretend that’s a bus )
Nice to see DiVine out!!!! I can never find her!!!!
Love how both of you were in the Everest ads!!! Those are so much fun!!!!
Great giraffe pics!!! And so many rhinos out, that’s so great!!!!
Mmmm, that lunch looks so good!!!!!
I love that you got a pic with the photo-op at DSprings!!!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen you with it, but I’m glad to finally see it!!!! It’s perfect!!!April 18, 2020 at 4:17 pm #130524An exactly 12 hour day!! And damn Ryan is quick!! Love the rhinos (the chubby unicorns!) and honestly have some trips where I wish we could just ride the safari all day! The special dole whip looks so tasty! So does that po boy! (finding I comment a lot about food lol!) another great day in the books!!
April 18, 2020 at 4:42 pm #130535@sej101 Ryan is super fast!! We were happy that Dinosaur was a walk on! It was our first time ever doing the Animation Experience. I will say the standby and FP area was very confusing and no one even knew where to line up. I felt that it was too fast of a class and you didn’t have time to really follow their direction and guidance. But overall it was a neat experience, even for someone that it not artistically inclined like myself. Ryan is an artist and enjoyed learning to draw Scar but he felt way too rushed as well. It really was a hot August! But you guys are hitting those crazy temps this weekend and our race tomorrow would have been dreadful! So it’s almost a blessing that everything was cancelled. We really love hopping around to different resorts for food, snacks or ambiance! We don’t do it as often as we would like though. But it was super yummy! We have since ridden the new buses on countless occasion! They are nice! We usually see her first thing in the morning on at least half our visits to AK! She tends to be when you choose to curve to the right after entering the turnstiles. It was shocking to see both of us get ads on Everest! Always fun to see!!! It was a great safari! And a great lunch! I think it had been a while since I took my pic with Pooh and friends at DS. I have some pics from years ago.
@warrsm In the heat it felt even longer than a 12 hour day! But a 12 hour park day is still a long day for sure! Ryan is crazy fast! I would love to ride the safari all day!! The chubby unicorns are so awesome to see! Um, I love food and appreciate your food comments! This is why we are friends!!!April 18, 2020 at 4:56 pm #130539@eeyorepoohfan yes it is one of many that brings us together
April 18, 2020 at 5:02 pm #130542@warrsm It truly is just one of the things that brings us together! A pretty big thing though! We love food so much!!!! And coffee and Star Wars and Disney and puppies!
April 18, 2020 at 5:25 pm #130582I actually agree with you on most of those points for Animation Experience. I personally feel like it completely ruined Conservation Station, but I at least appreciate having an animation attraction. I just want it gone though Wait the temps are high??? It was pretty cool yesterday and today. At least to Floridian standards There are so many new buses!!! And so many new wraps!!!! You’d could spend all day trying to ride each wrap and you probably couldn’t get it done!!! Oh that makes sense. We’re never there first thing in the morning because we don’t have to be
April 18, 2020 at 8:37 pm #130943@sej101 It really is difficult to enjoy Conservation Station now with the building being so congested. Your temps will be high tomorrow, which was race day! And you’ve had some hot days recently! Especially compared to us! We are in the high 70’s to low 80. Soooo many new wraps and I love seeing them all! No way to ride them all in a week! Well get there early at least once! Best the heat and crowds!
