Well, if we’re going by lines and waits, Flight of Passage is overrated. I sure wouldn’t wait the 4 and 5 hour waits it’s been commanding. Fastpass or Banshee Stampede.
Space Mountain too. I wouldn’t wait 60 – 90 minutes for it. So we fastpass it or early in the day. But I don’t think that’s what our original poster had in mind.

I truly think Frozen Ever After is highly overrated. After riding it for the first time in December I don’t understand the hype, popularity, or lines. We FP’d it and it I don’t even think I will do that anymore. If the lines are very low, we might ride it again. Had absolutely nothing to do with Norway whatsoever.

*contemplates why I wait three hours for Flight of Passage every time I’m at Animal Kingdom*

I would say Test Track. It is fun and should be a “Do not miss” ride, but I think the old version was a better “story” and that other coasters are more fun in general.

This is a little off topic, but I agree on Test Track. The previous ride was so much fun and had a great concept that was easy to follow. The new version in my opinion is lame. Of course the way the ride works is the same and it’s still a good thrill ride, but I don’t like the futuristic feel. Every scene looks the same and it’s so dark, it doesn’t feel like testing a car, especially when compared to the former ride. It’s as if the ride had to be entirely different and I wonder if that was the case due to different sponsorship deals. I don’t care at all for designing a car, I always let hubby do that :P the design part lasts forever! You cracked me up with your Kali River Rapids comment LOL

I think my definition of “overrated” may be different from some of y’all’s opinions. There are rides that I think are great but I still won’t wait for them, and then there’s rides that I think have a bigger hype than they deserve.

I think the 7DMT is amazing! It’s a thrilling coaster that’s still family friendly, and the animatronics blow me away every time! But I was shocked how short it was when I first rode it. I think the hype is warranted but I would never wait an hour or more for this ride. Same with Navi River Journey, I was very impressed with that ride, the technology is amazing and features another incredible animatronic, but I’m not waiting more than 30 minutes for that one.

Frozen is a ride where I don’t think the hype is warranted AND I wouldn’t wait long for it. Sure the animatronics are pretty decent but the ride is so boring. Long stretches of nothing, just a few projections and music played. No story, just a couple of scene recreations from the film. What a waste. I really don’t think you’re missing much if you skip that one.

Tomorrowland Speedway…my daughter is 13 and still absolutely loves it. If this were the only attraction in the Magic Kingdom she would still be happy. As one who commutes 45-60 minutes to work each way throughout the week, I am not drawn to an attraction in which I have to drive a really slow car.

LOL LOL LOL yes! And I’m always afraid someone behind is going to bump me! Good thing I work in personal injury law :P

I did feel that FoP had a really long pre-show experience. How many rooms with instructions do we need to go through??

YES!!! That drove me crazy! Every time I thought we were about to ride it was just another pre-show room. The second time we rode I was prepared but then on the ride someone threw up, they stopped the ride, got us off, and when they told us we could ride again – they made us go all the way through the preshow first :P

I’m of a very similar opinion @starbee and exactly what I tried to convey in my post. 7DMT is one of the best rides in MK in my opinion, but I’m not waiting an hour for it. FP.
Peter Pan’s Flight is a “cuhlassic” in every sense of the word to me but I’m not waiting 75 – 80 minutes for it. Rope drop or FP.
Inflated wait times don’t necessarily mean overrated to me. There are other options. Overrated, to me, means the hype and popularity of a ride far outweighs the draw and appeal in my opinion.

They do have free lockers for your stuff, which actually keeps it drier than the storage bin. They are near the entrance of the ride if you want to try that next time.

    @Ferg
You mean they don’t nickle and dime you to keep your stuff dry on the water rides like Universal? :P thanks for the tip, we didn’t get around to riding Kali last time so I didn’t know this had changed. Probably for reasons like my brother leaving his wallet in there one time with $200 in it. Wallet showed up later at lost and found with his license and credit cards in tact, but you guessed it, the cash was gone.

I agree with that. I do think the wait times are inflated for some of my favorites but that doesn’t mean I think it’s overrated.

That’s what I used in my post as well. The question seemed to be which ride has a reputation of being better than it is.

i didn’t read this before I started posting – AMEN! I wouldn’t wait hours for FoP either but that may be Disney’s best ride. I agree with everything you said about Frozen, not worth a FP if I have to pick that or Soarin’. I would wait 20 minutes for it.

I’m glad the critical stuff was in there (it is SUCH a pain to cancel credit cards, especially while on vacation!) but what a shame that someone took the cash. Could have been a guest or a hungry cast member. Hard to know. What a shame though.

So Frozen, I haven’t ridden it yet. Do you think the lines will die down after it has been out long enough that people have all done their “once and done” or “only every now and then” like some rides? I would like to ride it whenever we next go, but I am hoping it will be shorter lines. Has it been two years now that it is out?

Yes, it is a pain to cancel credit cards and not something you want to do on vacation. It would have been scary to drive the rest of the trip without a DL too! But yes, the money being stolen definitely burst our Disney bubble that day :( even at the World 2% of every group is a :darn:

@Ferg I hope the lines will die down eventually. I would like to ride it again at some point without burning a tier 1 FP.
It has been open about a year and a half, June 2016.
