    So…what do you think?
The GMR was one of my all-time favorites.
It was a great way to relax for a nice long ride and be entertained.
I can only hope that the first Mickey themed ride will be something Walt would have been happy with.
    We shall see.

I personally wasn’t a fan of the GMR. It was very out-dated and the “hosts” were always terrible actors. I am excited for something new but torn as I really wish they would keep HS “movie” themed.

I only rode GMR once. And once was enough. The sound from the mic that the guy was talking into was HORRIBLE, and he was completely annoying. If I could have walked off the ride, I would have. I had absolutely no patience for any of it. I hated it
I was NOT sorry to see this one go…….

Hmmmmm…..maybe I should have posted this on the unpopular opinion thread in the forums!

I loved the GMR. It was my favorite ride at Hollywood Studios. I miss it so much. I just hope the new one is just as much fun.

I’m glad to see someone else on here with good taste in attractions.

Can’t we all just get along?
And for the record, @Figment, I have good taste. Very good taste.

I literally cried when I watched the video of last GMR ever. One of my favorite attractions. I always wanted to be a cast member for either this or the Jungle Cruise.
I really hope this new attraction is good. :D

I love, love, LOVED The Great Movie Ride! I minored in film in college and that’s why I loved it so much. I can appreciate the art of film. GMR paid tribute to the classics, from which many of our modern day movies have been derived. It pains me that these days many people can’t appreciate good film making and acting. Just throw in tons of CGI and some good looking people and you’re done. They forget that without these “old and boring” classics, we wouldn’t have much of what we have today. The GMR celebrated those movies and reminded us where Hollywood started. That’s why I loved it. I understand that’s not everyone’s thing, but I think that was a pretty good fit for Hollywood Studios. I’ll miss it. Like others have said, I just want Hollywood Studios to keep with the golden age theme.

I loved GMR — mostly because I love animatronics. My favorite scene was the Wizard of Oz scene so I will miss it for sure. That said, I always thought it was so odd that NO RIDE featured MIckey. That was the weirdest thing ever. Glad that is being fixed. Too bad they couldn’t have added that ride without closing down GMR.
