Marathon Weekend January 8-14th, 2020: Day 7

Tuesday January 14th:
6:45am alarm. Fully packed and out of our room by 7:50am. Line was huge for airline check in. We didn’t get done until 8:45am. Dropped off our carry on bags with bell services. MK bus was waiting. We were dropped off at MK at 9:10am. Security lines were long. Went to Sleepy Hollow and shared a ham, egg and cheese waffle. Waited for Sam and Gail so we could ride Pirates together with our FP. They were running a bit late. So we tapped our bands at 10:15am and then just stepped to the side to wait for them. They arrive shortly and we all rode Pirates together. Chatted with them as we walked to Haunted for our FP, they didn’t have one. We said goodbye to them. Ryan and I rode Haunted. I dumped our Space FP since it was for 11:20am and our Tragical Express pick up was at 12:35pm for our 3:55pm flight, 3.5 hours early! We walked to our bus and it was waiting. We boarded and waited about 5 min before leaving. We claimed our bag at bell services. We grabbed an oatmeal cream pie cookie and filled our mug while we waited for our bus. We charged our phones for a bit too. We went out about 10 min before our pick up time and our bus was there. He waited until the official time to leave. We had no other stops and were dropped off quickly. Security was only 5 minutes. It was almost 1:30pm so we grabbed Jersey Mike’s subs. Then tea from SB. Flights home were on time and landed 20 min early in El Paso. We were home by 9:40pm. Lights out at 10:30pm.

Final Thoughts:
It was such a different but fun trip to cheer on our friends and family doing their Dopey Challenge! It truly was a challenge the with high temps for the long races. But I’m so very happy I finally had the chance to meet Justin, Christy and Chloe! They are all super awesome and nice people and it was an honor to cheer them! I loved cheering on my bestie, Deedee and her husband. And of course, my sister, who was completing her second Dopey Challenge (and she promises she’s never doing another one)! We knew going into this trip that it wouldn’t be a lot of park time and that my main goal to was cheer everyone and to survive our half marathon! It was such a great experience but boy, that sleep deprivation is rough! I remembered why I said I was only doing one Dopey Challenge! We were so excited that we were able to ride Rise of the Resistance and couldn’t wait to ride it again! Our next trip is less than two weeks away so Ryan can attend a Chiropractic conference.
