Marathon Weekend January 8-14th, 2020: Day 2

Thursday January 10th: 5K Day!
3:30am alarm. Didn’t sleep well since it was our first night away from home, plus not wanting to sleep through the alarm. There was a line for the bus but we only waited about 15 min because the buses were lined up. I was texting with Justin and Chloe and they were waiting behind the Joffrey’s truck! We had our first meet up there, along with seeing Christy! It was so great to finally meet them in person! We had really been texting and chatting a ton before the races so that I could answer any and all of their questions! We took our first and I think only picture as a group! We walked them towards the corrals and sent them on their way. I met Teri when she finished getting her pic with Mickey! I held her bag she brought so that she didn’t have to worry about checking it in at bag check. She came down with a nasty cold or virus just a few days before. So she wasn’t feeling great. I told her to take it easy and just focus on finishing. We sent her off to the corrals. Since there wasn’t runner tracking for the 5k, it was more of a challenge to estimate their finish times. We watched the race start and then went and got pics with Dopey, Mickey and Minnie with no wait since the runners were just beginning to finish. We worked our way to the finish line and grabbed Joffrey’s on our way. We saw Teri, Deedee and Henry finish but missed seeing Justin, Christy and Chloe. We were bummed we didn’t see them! There were so many runners and without the text alerts on our runners, it was a guessing game on when we thought they would cross the finish line. We met Teri and gave her her bag and sent her home to shower and rest to try to feel better. We took our bus to Pop, there was a huge line but were on a bus in 15 min. Back into our room at 7:40am and showered. We grabbed bagel sandwiches for breakfast at 8:50am. We walked right onto the MK bus and saw Chloe and Jon on the bus. We chatted the entire way to MK. They went to Sleepy Hollow to grab food. Ryan and I stopped in and got a new set of Sorcerers of the MK cards and finally got Ryan his Robin Hood card! That was our primary reason for collecting them! We were going to try to standby Pirates but it was down. Went to Jungle and it was posted 45 min but we only waited 25 min. Used our Thunder FP at 10:30am. Pecos Bills for Tacos at 10:45am and it was nearly empty! Pirates was back up so we used our FP at 11:15am. Standby was 55 min. SB for caffeine. Used our Space FP at 12:20pm. Got a Pooh FP for 1:15pm. Over to People Mover with a 15-20 min wait. Then Carousel of Progress. Used our Pooh FP at 1:55pm. The FP line was backed up but we were on within 5 min. We grabbed a Dole Whip and a twist for a snack. Took some castle pics. We left before 3pm. It was getting crowded. We to the bus to FQ and shared beignets! So yum! I texted Deedee to see if they happened to be at FQ since they are staying there. She and Henry were using the massage chairs in the game room! We went over and talked for about 45 min. Ryan and I then took the boat to DS. We walked the shops. Got dinner at Chicken Guys of chicken tender and fries. It was pretty good, not my favorite chicken but still good. Walked a few more shops and headed to the bust stop at 6:40pm. Waited about 15 min. Back to our room and stretched out. Lights out at 8:30pm.
