Monday January 28th:
6:45am alarm. Food court just after 8am, had bagel sandwiches. Bus app said the next MK bus would be there in 5 min so we went outside. All park queues were long. Probably because a lot of people opted to not go to the parks yesterday with the bad weather. They had 2 double length buses queued up for MK and we made it on the 3rd bus. We were dropped off at MK just after 9am. Security and turnstiles had long lines. We went straight to Thunder with just a 5 min wait at 9:30am. Got our pic taken by Thunder. Used our Pirates FP at the of our window at 10:15am. Rode Ariel standby with a 25 min posted wait but closer to 15 min. Space has been down so our FP for it at 11am had become a wild card, we opted to save it for later. We watched Philharmagic at 11:15am. Lunch at Pinocchio’s at 11:30am. I had the Gluten Free meat lover flat bread and Ryan got the strombolli. Both were just okay. After our amazing Italian food last night, this just couldn’t come close. But it was convenient for where we were. We walked up towards the flag pole to see which pop up characters were out today. They have been bringing out long lost friends lately. Well we could easily see Little John from and distance and Robin Hood was with him! This is Ryan’s all time favorite movie! So we got in line and waited nearly an hour to meet them. I told Ryan I would wait in line all day long for him to meet them if need be. It was cold and windy out but we didn’t care! Ryan was just beaming! We saw them around 1:40pm. We then picked up Sorcerer’s of the MK cards since a lady in line showed us she had gotten a Robin Hood one before! So now our mission is to try to get one for Ryan! No such luck in this bunch. We stopped in Starbucks for hot drinks with about a 15 min wait. We walked the Main Street Shops. At 2:30pm we used our Mickey & Minnie FP to see them in their birthday outfits. Since we were the last ones in the room to meet them, we had a really fun interaction and Minnie and I were talking about having to keep an eye on our boys since they often get into trouble! We went to the top of the train station to watch the parade. We got there at 3pm so we had about 15 minutes until the parade would reach us. We then went to use our Space SP from earlier since it came back up. Standby was 110 minutes! The FP line reached well beyond Joffrey’s and we waited about 20 minutes to get to the tap point. We then rose Carousel of Progress to warm up. We made the decision to hop to Epcot since yesterday was such a wash with the weather. We caught the monorail express immediately to the TTC and only had to wait about a minute for Monorail Red arrived to take us to Epcot! I booked of Living with the Land FP for 5:55pm FP. Stopped in the Art Store. Went to LWTL and there was no wait. But we still tapped our bands to “use” our FP. I immediately booked at SSE FP for 7:15pm. We walked World Showcase starting at Mexico. Rode Gran Fiesta Tour with a 5 min wait. Stopped at the Germany booth for the beef with brocollini and the caramel tort, so yum!!! Stopped at the pizza window in Italy and split a slice of pepperoni, sooooo yum! Stopped for the Festival of the Arts Scream/Mona Lisa photopass opportunity. Stopped at the America Pavilion booth for Beef Wellington and the sipping chocolate, both really good. We walked the Japan Shop. Walked back to watch the Broadway Concert Series at 8pm. They are real life brother and sister. He had been the original Aladdin on the Broadway musical, his sister played Jasmin but not the same years because that would have be awkward! We picked up some snacks to go in Germany (chocolate covered caramel with sea salt and caramel corn). We went and found one final mural of Little Brother in China. We went to the bus stop and on our bus at 9pm, again just beating out Illuminations and crowds. We got Sprite in our mug in the food court. Lights out at 10:30pm.
