    Hi everyone :D

    As i’ve mentioned before, it looks like we’re going to have to cancel our honeymoon which would have started in Miami. However its looking likely now that all we can do is transfer our cruise to a later date (Royal Caribbean, not DCL) . One of the posibilities sees us set sail from Orlando (Assuming port Canaveral) and i’m looking at the possibility of adding a stay either before or after in orlando to do WDW (linkely april may next year).

    As standard the cruise line only offers 3 days which i don’t think is enough. I’ve looked at extending this to a week, however i’m not really convinced that will be long enough. My wife is a big Potter fan so we’ll need to use atleast one day for “the other florida parks”, if we do one park per day that min four days for Disney. question is, i’ve never done that short of a visit to WDW (normally we do approx 3 weeks). For people who’ve done shorter trips, do you normally try to hit all the parks, or do you visit only 1 or 2 but spend more days in them? If so which parks to skip? I feel like EPCOT and MK are a must, but at the same time it would be odd to leave out MGM seen as it has GE now and then that only leave AK :(

    Any ideas, suggestions or experience would be apprecaited?

    With EPCOT being in almost complete construction mode, that’s the park I would skip… but that’s me…. also, I would definitely visit the parks after the cruise… this is something we like also

    We usually do 7 days at WDW… we always park hop so we start in one and always leave to go to another during the day… 7 days is enough for us.

    I would definitely skip EPCOT, as well. I feel like that park will be a disappointment and a head-ache to navigate until the renovation is complete. I can not believe I am saying it, either. Even though my favorite part of EPCOT is the World Showcase, the first impression I am going to get when entering the park will be 8-foot privacy walls. EPCOT is always a must-do for me, but I would be happier at HS right now if I had to choose between the two.

    I know in my heart of hearts that EPCOT should at the minute be a skip, but at the same time its always been my favourite and it jus does not feel right to skip! We normally park hop too, but mostly because my dad was a sucker for EPCOT Fireworks ahah. I know HS should be a big hit at the minute, with GE and all but i’m not sure it means that much to me :)

    We have done some shorter trips in the past and I have a hard time skipping a park in its entirety. It seems like each one has at least a few must do’s for us. However at this time, in it’s current state, I agree with the posters above about skipping Construction Wall City……er, EPCOT. But for you, it seems EPCOT is a high favorite and it doesn’t seem that you are that much interested in Galaxy’s Edge so that may sway your opinion. Keep in mind that with a shorter visit you will miss some things, several in fact. Prioritizing will be key. Make sure you go in armed with your must do’s and hit all those first.

    Sorry to hear about your honeymoon. We did an 8 day honeymoon in Disney World and loved every second of it. The shortest trip we’ve done was a 5 day trip and we absolutely have to do every single park. Magic Kingdom & Epcot are our favorites and for our short trip I believe we did 1/2 to 3/4 day each at Animal Kingdom and Disney Studios and hopped between Magic Kingdom and/or Epcot every day as well. At least for us, Park Hopper passes are essential for us and it really came in handy on our shorter trip

    Oh so sorry you have to delay :( we did ours 4 months after our wedding :) We have tried 5 days at WDW in the past but it’s still too short for us. I know we are opposite of many in this group because our MK time is the minimal of our trip. But we adore Epcot and yes the front has a lot going on and covered up, but once you enter each pavilion the magic lives :) we used to give AK and Studios half days but both of them need more time now I think. Plus don’t forget how much there is to enjoy in Springs now too. Every time we go I say we need more time there and we never think to allocate it that well. I would push for the seven extra days after the cruise.

    when was the last time you were in disney and when do you realistically think you’ll be back? if you haven’t been in a while and won’t be back for the foreseeable future i would do every park, 1 a day, or combine dhs and ak, or epcot and ak, and spend an extra day in magic kingdom, or whatever your favorite park is!

    now that i go more often i’m fine with skipping a park. in february i had like 3 park days i think? but i spent all my time in magic kingdom and epcot. i guess what i’m saying is do you want to see as much as you can, or do you want to stick with your favorites? if you’re willing to splurge, i think park hopper would be great for you, since you seem to want to do every park! this way you can relax more ya know?

    Hi everyone, thank you all for your kind advice :) @nascfan i’m sure EPCOT should be a miss, even bob chapek admitted it’ll be a little lackluster in the short term, however without :uoe: and :se: it takes away two of my big drawers! maybe EPCOT could be a miss :(

    @bosoxx113
    We always park hop too, no matter what park we do that day we’ll ususally switich to either MK or EPCOT late in the day for the fire works. 5 days seems like the absolute minimum, however with our day in transit and a day at universal that only really leaves us five disney day at most, and i doubt i’ll be able to do rope frop to fire works six days in a row haha we’d perhaps need a rest day somewhere in there :)

    @warrsm
    Our wedding was a ctually last year, well its one year ago tomorrow! (15/06) but we couldn’t afford both in one year. I hope you had fun on yours :D Yeah we always gave MGM and AK half day too, but with Pandora and GE i guess now it will likely be a full day each! I do love EPCOT and ive just been looking it up, it says you’re directed around SE! thats just not an entrance to EPCOT to me haha! We’re likely tto do after the cruise rather than before but realistically we can only do a week after, just trying to figure if thats going to be enough as the minimum i’ve ever done on a visit is 17 days haha :)

    @julia
    too long! thats how long its been LOL 2009 was my last visit and my wife has never been to any Disney parks anywhere. According to others on here WDW tickets are much cheaper to us in the UK, i guess to offset the price of the flights ect. We only ever buy hopper passes just to keep the options open, plus we’ve always been buying 14-21 days passes so the hopper upgrade cost is minimal. I sort of feel like skipping MGM as we’re nor really that interested in GE but at the same time, i keep thinking if i’m spending all that money, we should atleast try to see everything. but i’m a little worried that in trying to see it all, we’ll just feel like it was a whistle stop tour

    It sounds like you should definitely go to EPCOT buddy. My opinion and what I would do matters not. It looks like you love it too much to skip it.

    Yeeeeeeah you should definitely hit Epcot. It sounds important to you. But if you plan it right, it could just be a half day there, fit a half day somewhere else. And if they have FP back up, you can plan your FP effectively to really knock out all sorts of things. It’s just a matter of priority for you ;)

    I just went through this when planning my solo trip that never happened (thanks China). I had 4 days and I ultimately decided I would spend 3 at Disney and 1 day at Universal. I have APs for both so my plan was going to be Hollywood Studios for the first day, EPCOT for the second day, and Magic Kingdom for the third day. I was going to park hop both Universal parks on the same day if you were wondering.

    I made my decision based on Flower & Garden Festival being on at EPCOT, otherwise I may have skipped that because of all the construction (it was a PITA in January), Magic Kingdom because it’s a classic – how can you not go?!, and then when it came down to HS vs AK I picked HS because it had longer park hours than AK and I wanted to maximize my park time since I only had 3 days and it didn’t seem to make much sense to try park hopping at 7pm/8pm. Plus ark hopping from AK in general is just too difficult for me to want to do it.

    I think this is a very personal decision but hopefully sharing my thought process helps :)

    Also, we won’t know about park hopping but if that’s an option and you’re able to, the Skyliner makes it super fast and easy to park hop between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios so I highly recommend that if you want to cover more ground :up: plus it’s fun!

    Our first couple of trips down we’d get an early morning flight down to Orlando and then a late flight out the day we left but this stressed us out (thanks fastpass +) and the last day wasn’t much enjoyable.

    We are lucky enough where we have jobs that let us leave work early to catch flights as well as lucky enough to afford an extra night or two on Disney property. Our last two trips, we’ve kept the 8 park days that we like but now leave on a Friday night arriving around 10pm and then on our last day we take a mid-afternoon flight home allowing us to spend a few hours at Disney Springs that morning. It really works for us to get there the night before and then wake up the next morning rested, stress free and ready to attack the parks.
