I should get the final day of the trip posted before I forget and life gets in the way. So here it is, last day of the infamous Heather trip!

    Wednesday 1/10/18

We got up and I checked FP’s. I found a Soarin’ for the same time as our Test Track! Since we had just ridden TT with a FP yesterday I dumped that for Soarin’. Kathy was very happy with that! We got ready and tidied the room and packed up our last essentials. I got TSA pre-check on my boarding pass at Resort Airline check in! We dropped off our bags at Bell Services and as it was quite early they hailed a cab for us right in the parking lot to go over to Boardwalk! We enjoyed a lovely fire in the lobby fireplace of Boardwalk for a bit before our Trattoria al Forno breakfast. Trattoria and the breakfast is awesome! It has Eric and Ariel and Flynn and Rapunzel and was totally worth it! I would absolutely do this breakfast again! The food was very, very good, we couldn’t eat all of the pastry skillet so they packaged up what we couldn’t eat for us to take for a snack later. We both got the eggs and there was so much food! We were so full when we were done, before we were done as a matter of fact! It’s a smaller, more intimate setting than a lot of character meals and all four of the characters gave us great interaction! They took some nice time with us, just two adults with no children! I highly recommend this breakfast if those characters are important to you.

7:30 was a great time for breakfast for us as we were able to mosey on over to Epcot’s International Gateway and were let through the touchpoints right away and held for just a few minutes until open at the rope to World Showcase. My goodness what a difference Intl. Gateway is compared to the main entrance! So much more relaxed! We strolled over to the Seas aiming to get some empty country pictures. We were successful at the United Kingdom but it misted too heavily for Canada. Doggone it! Oh well, it was still a really nice easy and relaxed walk. We rode Living Seas with Nemo and spent a little time around the Seas including seeing the manatees Lou and Lil Joe. They were having a great morning swimming around and rolling over and enjoying their tank! We rode Soarin’ with our FP and then found a really cool candle holder in Mouse Gear before our Spaceship Earth FP, our last ride of the trip. What a way to round out a trip!

We had an earlier flight than normal, 4:00 departure, so we knew we wouldn’t have a lot of time at Epcot but it was nice to have breakfast and a morning there. Since it was still fairly early in the day we had our own private bus back to Pop! Tragical Express was still picking up 4 hours before flight time due to the holidays so we had time for Chick-fil-A at MCO before heading through security and our flight home.

Final Thoughts: What an amazing, incredible, wonderful trip! Seeing Heather for the first time was so much more special than I ever could have imagined! Meeting so many D-Cotters over the weekend and getting to spend time with them was awesome! Sure it was cold, but travel was pretty easy for us, thank goodness! It could have been much, much worse as Nancy had a devil of a time making it down with weather delays. And it really warmed decently and felt pretty darn good by Sunday afternoon. I am still, to this day, amazed and in awe of Heather, Ryan, and Teri for completing the Dopey Challenge, and so very, very proud of them! Boy, for a shorter trip I sure did blab a lot! If you stuck it out with me, thank you! I hope I didn’t ramble on too much.
Next up April and our first runDisney race! And another meeting with Heather, Kelly (kcboston), and first time meeting with Melissa (monkcline) and Jen (DisJen)!

Sounds like a great morning at Epcot, minus the mist in Canada. I love the manatees so much! :epcot:

Reading this trip report just made my heart so full! Thank you for posting it! I’m so glad you guys all had such an amazing trip!!

I love, love entering Epcot through the International Gateway! It’s hardly ever crowded and it almost feels like you’re coming in a secret passageway or something! I’ve only eaten at Trattoria al Forno for dinner (which is incredible), but the breakfast sounds fantastic!! It’s going on my “must try” list!
