Grumpytude499 XPSo here’s what happened with FPs today. Set the alarm and got up early to be sure to be alert and online by 7AM. Checked the outside temp before starting and it was 8* BELOW zero. Sure was easy to daydream about Florida. Right off I got FoP at our preferred time and day. Pretty awesome. Then I got The Mine Train for
day one of our visit and fleshed out that MK time with Splash Mountain and Space Mountain. Then on to our 3rd park day and no ticket for Zachary – SAY WHAT – I went through that all very carefully last week and the tickets for the boys actually arrived physically yesterday. At this point the site had been acting up, I assume because of traffic. I kept having to log all the way out of the WDW site and sign back in. I then fished up our AK
day because I new Zach had a ticket and got a safari around sunset time and Everest which has always been the boys favorite. I then booked the last park day FPs without Zach in the party cause I thought I might have to get him single FPs that crossed over our times. I booked the Mine train again, Buzz and At this point it was time to call the mouse again. First person might have had a hard time asking if I wanted fries with my order but the second person was typical Disney. An awesome person to talk with while he solved the problem. I just castmembers! He was able to sort it out and explained that This happens sometimes and no-one knows why but I CAN fix it. He ended up getting us all set with only minor time changes and switched to another Space Mountain at the boys request. He also saved me a lot of time at the parks by stacking their tickets so the last ones used would be the non-expiring ones. I thought I was going to have to go to customer service to do that. I am so excited to get all our choices. No I can actually go to planning the park daysDecember 27, 2017 at 11:29 am #60513That’s awesome!!
December 27, 2017 at 12:36 pm #60523I’m so glad it was a success and that the hiccups were resolved!

December 27, 2017 at 1:13 pm #60528Good choices for FP! Evening Safaris are prime viewing time!
December 27, 2017 at 11:30 pm #60555Oh man! That was quite the ordeal! But I’m so glad you were able to reach a CM that could help resolve the issues!!!! I’m so glad you got all that you wanted too!!!
December 27, 2017 at 11:35 pm #60556And I just saw your previous question on opinions of RoL. Ryan and I were unimpressed. It was beautiful but it never built up to a climactic moment. It was just flat all the way through. I prefer shows that build up. I kept waiting and hoping for it to build and then it abruptly ends. I know some people love it, but it wasn’t our cup of tea. We may watch it again in a year or two.
December 29, 2017 at 10:39 am #60684Glad you got that all figured out! I have had a problem with MDE ever since it got rolled out but it is getting better. Thankfully most of our issues were resolved ahead of time but I did keep getting “Stitch ate the page” in the middle of making FPs on FP day!

All true. It’s hard when you’ve seen Fantasmic to compete with that. I think RoL is perfect for Animal Kingdom, and beautiful, but it’s a very different type of show to Fantasmic. I would call it more artsy than exciting. But I also don’t think it’s an apples to apples comparison between the two shows. But we all have different tastes! I would definitely recommend seeing it at least once.

Grumpytude499 XPHi everyone, I am bringing this thread back tp hopefully answer some of my questions. To start, some Pop Century questions as we are staying there the first 2 night. Does anyone know if all the rooms have been renovated and if not which ones have? Next questions is do you have any thoughts on the best section to request in the standard room? Thanks
February 12, 2018 at 11:57 am #66217They have not completed renovating rooms yet. When we were there in January I believe they were on the 60’s section, working their way back from 90’s through 50’s.
We like 50’s because it’s close to Classic Hall and yet you can get a lakeside room which is a very quiet area. That is not guaranteed however. And if you want a renovated room, 70’s might be the place to request. I don’t know how far along in 60’s they are, and a lot of those are preferred rooms. 90’s is a long way from Classic Hall and can be quite a walk at the end of a long day.February 12, 2018 at 12:38 pm #66224
Grumpytude499 XPThanks @nascfan. I had been thinking about the 70s as the boys think some of the décor is cool. I stayed 1 night in the 50s before and it was a nice quiet room and close to the main building but we really would like a renovated room so 70s request it is. Is there only one bus stop for Pop? The last time we had a rental car.
February 12, 2018 at 12:53 pm #66225Yes, one bus stop out in front of Classic Hall. They have individual signs and queues for each park so you’re not milling around with people going to Studios if you’re going to Animal Kingdom. They also have the monitors which display the estimated arrival time for each park’s bus.

Grumpytude499 XPThanks the monitors are such a great addition.
