I have been reading online about Garden Grocers who will deliver your groceries to your resort, has anyone used them, did you like the service?

I realize the items will cost more than if we get a Uber and go pick them up at Walmart or Publix but not to cut into our park time I figured it would be a good idea to order breakfast essentials and drinks for the week. :cupcake: :mint: :coffee:

I use Garden Grocer EVERY year! Its a terrific service! You pay for a service charge, BUT, if you order X amount of days in advance, you get 20% off of your total bill which is basically like a free delivery charge! This past trip, on our arrival date of 9/2 at Port Orleans Riverside, our groceries were waiting for us. We ordered:

    Apples
    Bananas
    Orange Juice single serving cartons
    Apple Juice single serving bottles
    International Delight hazelnut coffee creamers
    Gluten Free Blueberry Muffins
    Regular blueberry muffins
    Regular Apple Bran muffins
    Granola Bars
    Beer
    Gluten Free poptarts
    Hand soap

And a few other things, but I can’t really remember right now. The groceries were all stored in a refrigerator at the resort, and were all bagged up in paper grocery bags. We LOVE LOVE LOVE the service that they provide. We eat breakfast on the go, and the prices are much more reasonable than Disney prices :D

@jamiedawn27 I guess it depends what you would order, some things work out pretty cheap, for example the assorted muffin tray, works out to about a dollar each! I think I saw a 10% off if ordered 60 days in advance, will have to look again more carefully. 14$ delivery fee I believe, but really a Uber ride would cost the same?

    My list would be:

    Milk (half gallon)
    Chocolate milk (6)
    Hazelnut creamer
    Powerade (8 pack)
    Bottled water (12 pack)
    Assorted muffins (15)
    Bananas (the green ones lol)
    Capri sun (10 pack)
    Cinnamon rolls (6)
    8 pack of Diet Pepsi

This order would cost 86.76 before discount including delivery, this would cover all our breakfasts and drinks we would bring with us to the parks or have when we got back to the resort.

I actually just placed an order with them for our trip in November – the prices are definitely a little higher than usual, so I only used them for cold items and am going to ship everything else down (still works out in my favor even with two shipping charges) We’re staying at POR so no kitchenette, but I wanted some milk/yogurt/snacks on hand without having to buy it all there. VERY easy to order though, and I did get the 10% discount since I ordered so far in advance. It’s worth it to me to have the cold items delivered; I’d rather suck up the cost than have to go food shopping on my disney trip!

@kw746 you buy stuff at home and then ship by US post? How much does that cost you if you don’t mind me asking? I’m not sure it would be worth it for me from Canada but I am curious!

I will say that even if its a little bit more pricey, its worth every penny to me to be able to have the groceries waiting for us. We have never had anything other than stellar service from them!

It probably only costs about $10, but I’m also only shipping it from NJ. Depends on how heavy the items I’m shipping are – oatmeal and coffee, not too expensive…bottles of wine are another story :) It ends up being less expensive than having to bring extra bags on the plane with us. If you do ship from home to your resort, use UPS or FedEx, it can go right to the resort that way. If I use the US postal service (not sure of the Canadian equivalent?) it has to go through a processing center first and takes WAY longer! Last time I did that our package arrived the day before we were heading back home :hmmph:

Love that! I don’t think it’s that bad per item when you think about it, yes might be more expensive but still cheaper than picking up at the resort shop or in the parks!

@kw746 with our postal service (Canada Post) and customs and then US postal service, it’s probably not worth it !

I did have a parcel sent to the resort once, but from the US, some clothing I had bought online around the time I was going to WDW, to avoid expensive shipping all the way to me I had it shipped there.

I think I might pack some cereal bars or pop tarts in our stuff but the drinks and perishables can be shipped to our room, love it!

Yes… a muffin and an orange juice in the resort food court is 3x as much!!!!

I just remember checking and seeing the prices for pop and water bottles and thinking “I’d rather drive to Wal-Mart”

I understand that @jamiedawn27! I try to stay onsite as much as possible! On our next trip we may go offsite to the CM store with our local friends and see their new house (if all goes well!) otherwise we aren’t going offsite!

Here is a thought – when you are factoring in the cost make sure you take into account the cost of the park ticket that you are unable to use because of having to leave to go to the store. We use Tiffany towncar service when we arrive so we use their free 30 min grocery stop so I don’t take it into account but once we are checked in the hotel time is ticking and we like to get the biggest bang for our bucks in the parks. Again, just a thought. Now that I know about this service we may take them up on it and order ahead – more time in the magic!
