My first trip report! Warning: this may be long. I have a lot to say LOL

    Day 1, Sunday 4/10/19

My flight was scheduled for 6:30 AM, which means I had to wake up at 2:30 since I wanted to leave at 3. So I set my alarm for 2:30, and amazingly, I was actually able to sleep (usually I never get any sleep the night before a Disney trip). Anyway, silly me forgot all about daylight savings, and since it technically never turned 2, my alarm didn’t go off! Thankfully, my parents were driving me to the airport and my mom came in my room a couple minutes after 3 to find out why I was still sleeping. Imagine though if I was taking an Uber to the airport? I probably would’ve missed my flight! I made sure I was all packed the night before, so all I had to do was throw on a t-shirt and sweatpants, brush my teeth, and I was ready so we made it to the airport just a few minutes later than what I had planned.

So once I got through security and everything, and got to my gate, I passed the time by crocheting and playing Disney Emoji Blitz on my phone. Then it came time to board, and after about 20 minutes after we had boarded, the captain got on the PA and told us the flight was going to be delayed about 20 minutes. Apparently they had to take out about 5,000 pounds of fuel for some reason. Well 20 minutes turned into 2 hours, but finally, we were in the air! I didn’t mind that long of a delay since the flight was so early, so I would still have the entire day in the parks. I was also just grateful the flight wasn’t cancelled all together. Anyway, I was flying United, so to change the channel on the TV the buttons are on the arm rest. The guy next to me fell asleep and managed to turn my TV off with his arm LOL I didn’t want to wake him up so I decided to just listen to music on my phone the rest of the flight, but I too fell asleep – this was good for me, but terrible for people around me cause I am quite the snorer haha!

I forgot to mention that this was a solo trip – my first solo trip, but I’ll definitely be taking more! Anyway, the plane landed in Orlando around 12ish. Once the Magical Express got to Pop Century, I got a text that my room was ready! It was such perfect timing! I was in the first 50s building, which was so close to Classic Hall! For a standard room, I couldn’t have asked for anything better! When I got to my room, I quickly packed my park bag and headed to the Magic Kingdom. But before that, I had to get my refillable mug! I wasn’t on the dining plan, but the mug is so worth it if you’re like me and love drinking soda on vacation!

Once I got to Magic Kingdom it was like 2 o’clock and I quickly realized how crowded the parks were going to be. The line for Casey’s Corner was out the door!! And it was way after lunch time!! BUT I wanted my corn dog nuggets and cheese sauce so I braved the line, which actually went by pretty fast. After lunch I got a seat for the parade. It was my first time seeing Festival of Fantasy and I really liked it! I had to suppress myself from crying quite a few times, especially when Ariel went by LOL :ariel: Right after the parade ended I made a beeline for Tomorrowland, and hopped on line for the peoplemover. I had to wait about 15 minutes for it, which was shocking to me, as I’m used to no wait at all for that ride. Once I was done with the peoplemover I hopped on the monorail and went to Epcot for Flower & Garden (my first time at the festival!)

Of course, right when I got to Epcot my head started hurting, but I was determined not to miss my fastpasses. My first one was for Spaceship Earth which had a 40 minute wait (!!!) but thankfully I was on it within minutes. It’s such a relaxing ride :se: Then after SE I got my first festival beverage, a non-alcoholic violet lemonade! I hate vodka so I went with the virgin one and omg it was delicious!!! Def one of my favorites from the festival. After violet lemonade it was time for my Frozen fastpass. This is hands-down one of my favorite rides in the parks. I think it’s so beautiful and the animatronics are breath-taking! I know this isn’t a popular opinion, but my god I really do love this ride.

After Frozen, my head was killing me so I decided to go back to the hotel and skip my Nemo fastpass. It just wasn’t worth making myself miserable for a ride I don’t even care for. Besides, I got another fastpass for it later in the week. So I went back to the hotel, got a coke, took some excedrin, and unpacked and rested. Around 8 o’clock I started to feel better and went to the food court for dinner. I thought since it was way past dinner that the food court would be empty, but nope! The lines were huge. I had nothing else to do so I waited and got a mediocre cheeseburger. Then I wanted desert and got back in line for tie-dye cheesecake which was sooo good! After food, I went back and took a shower. I tried to go to bed but from all the caffeine I had between the soda and excedrin, I was wired LOL so i popped an ativan I was originally going to take for the flight
but never did (i’m deathly afraid of flying) and fell off to sleep :mickey-rainbow: All in all it was a great first day

P.S. I also want to add that Pop Century is a great resort!!!!!! I have never stayed at a value before and was not expecting it to be so nice. I stayed at Caribbean Beach in September, and while CBR has a better aesthetic, I would stay at Pop over it in a heartbeat.

That’s a busy first day! I’m glad you didn’t miss your flight! Bummer about it being delayed a bit but at least it was an early enough flight that you still had plenty of time left in your day! I love the Festival of Fantasy Parade too! Such a great one! Such busy lines! But I’m glad you made the best of it.
