Yeah @starbee you better be up I. Front of that pic early! Also, go to AK later in the week. ;)<span class=”lightbox-hover” style=”opacity: 0;”></span><span class=”lightbox-hover” style=”opacity: 0;”></span>

I’ll be up, at 6am on my weekend  thanks for changing the times to my detriment Disney! I’ve already made my AK plans and I can’t change them now because I won’t get replacement ADRs. Fingers crossed.

    @acamm Sorry you had these issues with your FP+ selections :down:<span class=”lightbox-hover” style=”opacity: 0;”></span>

I feel your pain of having to get up at 6am on the weekend. I had to get up at 6:30am to be at my laptop at 7:00am with my coffee… on my DAY OFF of the 4th of July LOL Ugh

So it’s 7am for fastpasses and not 6am like the dining adr’s? Mine is coming up in September.

@Disneydana, correct, 7:00 am for easties, backing up each hour for each time zone. So Pacific would be 4:00 am to them.

I will say we find that FPs and Dining Reservation times do not book up quite as fast in the Summer months – more people, less planning. So we could have gotten FoP if we wanted it. Scored everything else we wanted no problem!

Does that mean that summer guests aren’t planners like us? I do have a friend who is going for the first time in a few weeks, so I asked her, did you get your FPs, do you have a plan? She said nah, we were just gonna wing it. Good luck sista! I tried to coach her a little bit but I guess when you don’t know how it works…I told her it’s gonna be HOT and PACKED, as long as you expect that, you won’t be too dissapointed.

Which makes me all the more surprised that September 3rd was fully booked for Acamm. Last time I was at WDW so many people were clueless about FP+ asking us “How did you do that? How much did it cost? Where did you do it?” and I was thinking, “really?” I guess seeing paper tickets educated a lot more people on the FastPass system

I have a feeling it’s the FP scammers still at play, or agents somehow grabbing everything for their clients?

Yeah from experience in summer trips, it will be hot and packed in the middle of the day. Otherwise we are but a family of planners in a sea of people just wingin’ it! We show up for “rope drop” and once we get deep into the park seem to have it mostly to ourselves until about 11 or 11:30 when everyone else shows up and is :surprised: when they have to wait in so many lines. Meanwhile in the case of MK, we’ve been on 6 rides or so with short (5-10 minute) waits. Then at 11:30-12:30 we peace out for the afternoon (when it really gets hot and packed) and come back around 5 or 6 pm for show-type attractions mostly and maybe the fireworks to close out the day. Plus we’ve likely spent our afternoon at a dining reservation, pool side and/or napping so we’re well rested for round 2!

If we visit fall or winter, the temps are much better and so are overall crowds, but 90% of the people planned ahead so if we’re all following remotely the same advice, we’re headed to the same places at the same time and it shows.

I think you’ve really hit on something there! Having been in most seasons, I can see this and follow along with the logic.

You have perfectly described every single yearly WDW vacation that we go on.
    1. Rope Drop
    2. Ride errrrrrything!
    3. Use 3 FP’s
    4. Leave park at 12:30 and head to the resort
    5. Poolside all afternoon napping and relaxing… it is vacation after all!!
    6. Shower, and head to our dinner ADR’s at 5:00pm
    7. Spend the evening in another park and get FP #4, #5, & #6 :)

That’s interesting, go deep in the park first, so simple! Usually we head directly to our first FP of the day since we’re not early risers, but if I can get the boys ready early one day we will try this!

It’s just a matter of time before they start making us use a credit card to hold a fastpass ressie. I mean the whole booking in advance thing is ridiculous IMO. People are holding all of the good passes and you know as well as I do that if you don’t make it to your appointment, you don’t go and hassle with getting on the WDW website and cancelling the fp’s. I know I don’t! I sure miss the days of hoofing it to the ride to get the passes you want. I can NOT stand that they have “tiers” for the good rides and then the not so popular. I don’t know about any of you, but I have never needed a flippin fastpass for The Living Seas with Nemo. Now I guess I will have to choose between Frozen, Test Track and Soarin’? I’ve NEVER understood the wait until you’ve used this or that pass before you can get another one thing. I figure there is no chance of getting any kind of good fastpass on the same day. And the best part was someone walking up to you and giving you their unused fastpasses or getting to make someone else’s day by giving them mine.

I’m just going to throw in there that when you use a TA, most of the time they will help you get what you want ;)
