I had no idea this was a thing until I made my FastPasses this morning and saw on my Magic Kingdom days it said the park hours plus “Special Ticketed Event 7:45am-9am”. I tried to find out what that was and found out about Early Morning Magic

My plan was to rope drop Peter Pan on one of my MK days, now I’m wondering if that would be wasted time because of this event. It gives guests access to 7DMT, Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan from 7:45am until 10am and rope drop is 9am. Do you think it will already be crowded if I head to Peter Pan at 9am? Should I adjust my touring plan or do you think this event doesn’t change anything? If it makes a difference, the days these events are offered and the days I’m going to MK are both MNSSHP days.

I’ve never heard of it either. My thought is that with such a large window, people will likely have gotten their 1 ride out of the way. You will likely have a wait, but I doubt it would exceed an hour.

I have heard of it and bloggers have looked into it with Josh from easyWDW doing some extensive research. As you know he actually goes to the parks to see how things shake out. It should have minimal effect, with the possible exception of a planned 7DMT rope drop. Only three rides are open for those folks during the time and generally they will get multiples in and then go to the breakfast when the park actually opens. Like RIDisneyPinGuy said above, you may have a bit of a wait for Peter Pan or Winnie the Pooh if you rope drop it but minimal.
If it’s any consolation, we plan to MK rope drop on 10/26 which is one of those days and I do not plan to change.

After I got pushed out of the way by someone with a stroller, I refuse to participate in the running of the dwarfs ever again! LOL Peter Pan or bust! :p thanks for your input!

@starbee After reading this I checked our plans. Yup. We are running into the same thing on the morning we planned a MK rope drop.
Guess I’ll let you know how it went after my trip!

Didn’t they also have a late hours ticketed event? It had free food and a handful of rides open and nobody did it. It might be discontinued, but that’s what this Early morning thing is reminding me of.

    Is it really necessary, Disney?

Yes, I believe it was called Disney After Hours. And yes, I believe that has officially been discontinued.

Yes they did, like Nascfan said and they’ve scrapped it. No one did it because it basically cost the same as a 1 day ticket but got you just 3 hours of park time. Apparently Disney seems to think most of their patrons have money like Bill Gates. I wonder how popular the morning version is? They have reduced the price significantly from what the late night one was charging. Is it necessary, absolutely not, I wouldn’t do it. Unless I couldn’t do a full day at the park and wanted whatever ounce of park time I could get. Maybe this is another plan to recoup money after Shanghai :p if they want to keep something like that they should bring back E Ride Nights. That was well worth the money!

I am possibly mistaken but they were still doing after hours this year, I heard that it was amazing. I’d totally do the after hours, and honestly I’d do the early morning if it fell on one of my dates but it does not. Oh well.

They do it out here too and it’s usually only at one of the parks (they switch all the time) and IMO from friends who have taken advantage of it..it’s WELL worth it. They get Space Mountain out of the way, or BTMRR. If it’s DCA, they get Soarin, Tower (RIP)/GotG, or Screamin. And then they go have breakfast while the crowds are swarming in from rope drop.
