A lot of pics with you and a Mickeys premium, lol…..fuel for the run? Did they hand those out at different intervals?
A lot of backstage props too! I enjoyed your pics! Thanks for sharing!

Star Wars marathon is coming quick! :D

@nascfan Me too!!! It was only the second time I’ve eaten there! I loved it so very much! I think I still would have loved it that much even if I hadn’t ran a marathon that morning!!! LOL It was just legit good food!!

@85glht I grabbed the Mickey bar within my last 1/2 mile of finishing the marathon! I was determined to cross the finish line with one in hand and I did!!! I didn’t even attempt to eat it until after I finished the race! Happy to share! I finally started attaching pictures in to my trip reports for that trip! It’s hard to believe that was a year ago. The Star Wars Half Marathon is coming up very quickly! I need to get my training on track again! But I’m getting there!!

Awesome! For the 5k, I’m not doing anything… I think I can fast walk that with a little jogging here and there… I’ll be ok. Lol…. I just worry about the day after :(

@85glht You will be fine for the 5k! Just be sure to get some good walking in between now and then! You can walk and jog periodically during each mile and will do just fine! Just pace yourself carefully and hopefully you will feel fine the next day!

I didn’t reread the entire days for the past couple ones, but I read through most of this one and I’m not crying you’re crying. I’m just so proud of you!
It was fun going through the parks with you and your photos! And my goodness, those attraction pieces! That’s amazing, especially the dragon float! :mal:
I think Scott’s right, there’s no finish photo that could top that! Not in a million years!
And there’s all the medals!!!! Such an awesome accomplishment! (although I’d advise wearing them one at a time, that’s a lot for the neck :goofy: )
Mickey looks pretty proud of ya too!
There’s some really good pictures of you in the race! I love them!

I’m totally crying!!! And so are you!!! ;) I seriously can’t believe the emotions that came back when I reread this one and then posted the pics!! I will forever remember this day! Aren’t the attraction pieces cool?? They had them on a very long stretch of road that would have been very boring. So it really was fun to see them!!! I absolutely positively love my finish picture!!! I have it saved as my lock screen photo on my phone! And it’s my profile pic on both d-cot and facebook! The medals are awesome!! All together weighing in just under 3 pounds!! We only wore them all for pictures and then immediately took them off! So heavy!!!!! Mickey was super proud! I love all the race pics too!

Alright, you got me. I cried a little. :goofy: It’s just such a monumental and amazing accomplishment! It will never be forgotten!
And that’s one way it will never be forgotten! Just plaster it everywhere, that’ll work! It really does make a good profile pic!
3 pounds isn’t that much…unless it’s all on your neck! :goofy: I totally understand taking them off!

Ok, I am full-on crying now! Heather, I am just so, so proud of you! Seriously, you are an absolute inspiration to me. The fact that you ran all of those races, finished your first marathon, completed the Dopey challenge (!!!!!) and ended it all with a Mickey bar in hand is just so incredible!!! You are amazing!!!! I love you to the moon, Sis!!! :mbar:  :mbar:

@sej101 Aw!!!! That really does mean a lot to me!! It truly was the most physically challenge event I will ever complete in my life! It truly will never be forgotten! I will totally plaster it everywhere! It will still probably be my profile picture in 10 years!! LOL 3 pounds is nothing, unless it’s around your neck indeed! Holy cow that’s heavy! We actually carried them in our bag for the day each day. And had two sets! So the pack felt super heavy!!!

    @laprana
Aw!!!!! I full on cried too! Thank you for caring for me so much to feel that much pride!! I’m honored to be an inspiration! It was only reasonable to finish it all with a :mbar: in hand!! I love you to the moon and back, sis!!

It’s a story that will be passed down from generation to generation… :goofy: Hey, no shame in that! It’s an awesome picture! I bet it was heavy! I don’t even think my regular park bag is over 2 pounds, and it sometimes gets heavy, so to imagine 6 pounds!!! :surprised:

So much to comment! I’m going to split this up :P

    1) I would have been freaking out over the bus situation! :surprised: SO glad y’all made it and didn’t miss your start/get disqualified for walking
    2) That sounds like a really fun course aside from the crazy hairpin and that long stretch at Wide World of Sports
    3) Okay so bathrooms, you can use any regular restroom in the parks? I guess the porta-potties are just at the start?
    4) I’m with you on dressing for the 60 degree finish! I feel like if I’m cold, I’ll warm up as I keep running but if I’m too hot, there’s not a whole lot I can do about that! LOL

We exited back by Splash Mountain again and took the back road by the Grand Floridian (more characters), then the service road towards AK, there was a stupid hairpin where we ran 1/4 mile down an unending road, then completely 180* turn back down that road, then the back road to AK (they had Hades, Pain and Panic at a meet back there. Plus props and characters from the Adventurers Club at the old Downtown Disney, old attraction cars there too!), we hit our half marathon distance by Expedition Everest.

I would have LOVED to have seen the props and characters from the Adventurers Club!!!!!! I miss it so much! :( I will never forgive Disney for taking it away. So it seems like there were a lot of characters on the full marathon that you wouldn’t usually get to see at the parks, but you only stopped for two? Seems like it would be hard with that race to keep a good pace and stop for characters. That is so incredibly awesome that you met your time goal!
