    Saturday January 14th:
6:45am alarm. Breakfast at our hotel. Again, it was very busy because the 10k finishers were arriving back at the hotel. We left our hotel at 8:40am for a 9am California Adventure opening. Security lines were a lot longer this morning, but we were through in 5 minutes. We got to the turnstile right at 9am. CM’s were announcing that Radiator Springs Racers was down, so FP’s were not going to be distributed until it was up. So we went to Screamin and were on in 10 minutes. Then Toy Story with a 50 minute wait (you could feel the extra crowds since Racers was still down). By the time we got off of Toy Story, Racers was up but stand-by was really long. So we did Single Rider and were on in 5 minutes. We then picked up Racers FP for a return time of 3pm (it was 10:45am by now). We had an early lunch at Smoke Jumpers. Ryan had a burger and I had a chicken sandwich bunless. Both were good. We then grabbed a Mickey Ice Cream bar to eat while in line for the Frozen stage musical. It was about an hour before showtime so we could get a seat on the bottom level. It really is a fun and well done show! I still miss Aladdin though! We caught the Green Army Men show near the Little Mermaid ride. It was about a 5 minute show and really fun! Lots of audience participation. We then went to Goofy’s Sky School with a posted 30 minute wait, but it was really 45 minutes. That’s a rough ride! No wonder we don’t ride it often! It was almost 3, so we walked to Racers. Glad we had FP’s and were on in about 10 minutes. The Stand-by line posted 165 minutes.

It was around 3:45pm. We went over to Disneyland and grabbed FP’s for Thunder for 4:35pm. We went and grabbed a Dole Whip with a 10 minute line. We tried to find a bathroom, but the huge bathroom in Adventureland is being remodeled. So we tried 3 bathrooms before I found a line that wasn’t more than 30 people deep. Ryan gave up because the men’s lines were ridiculous. There really aren’t as many bathrooms at Disneyland as WDW! And many are small! The one by the castle has less than 6 stalls! We then rode Thunder with our FP’s. It was getting late and we had to be up early for our half marathon the next day. So we started to leave the park. We caught the final Disneyland Band performance of the day and they were playing abbreviated Lion King songs! So awesome! We left around 5:30pm or so. Restroom stop on the way out of DL. We grabbed dinner at Tortilla Joe’s in Downtown Disney. We stuck with our simple chicken, beans and rice for dinner. We chatted with a fellow runner for a while! We were back to our room by 6:20pm. We set out all of our race gear and relaxed and stretched out a while. We set the alarm for 3:30am and had lights out just after 9pm.

Isn’t that crazy there are not more bathrooms in DL? I never would have thought that. WDW seems to have tons, so I would assume that the original park would be similar.

I’d LOVE to see the Frozen show in person. I’ve watched it on You Tube, and Its very impressive! :elsa:

Chicken, beans, and rice sounds delicious… as does your Dole Whip earlier in the day. :dole:

And what’s funny is that it never seemed like they were lacking in bathrooms, until they closed one of the biggest ones to expand and refurb it! We get spoiled at WDW because they are everywhere and usually big bathrooms. I kid you not, there are numerous bathrooms at DL with fewer than 10 stalls, a couple under 5!

The Frozen show is great in person!!! The first time we watched it, we were in the highest upper balcony but still great to see! They do projections on the stage floor, so we actually prefer to be up a little higher than the floor near the stage.

All food was yummy for sure!!!! And a safe dinner the night before our race! Always love a Dole Whip too!

You can tell the crowds were up for the race, and with RSR being down and then up. Wowsers! I remember the Mickey bar pictures! :) Good day before the race!

Seems like you still packed-in a fun filled day despite the waits and the crowds. How was the dinner at Tortilla Joe’s?

It was a good day! Dinner was great! We did their quick service side, just as we had done in November before our Avenger’s half. The food really is good. No crazy spices or anything. Easy to digest before the run.
