Friday November 11th:
No alarm was set for today because this was the one day our passes were blocked (Veteran’s Day). Since we live in NM, we are an hour ahead of CA. We were awake at 5:45am CA time. We relaxed a bit before heading out for a short 2.5 mile run to acclimate to the low elevation. After our run, we showered and went to Denny’s in our parking lot for breakfast. Our hotel doesn’t have a breakfast room, so they give you a voucher to Denny’s. You can select 3 items from their list plus a drink. We were actually very impressed with the food and service! We hadn’t been to a Denny’s in 20+ years! You could use the voucher between 7-10am only. We got down there at around 9:45am. So we hadn’t finished getting ready for the day. After we finished breakfast, we went to our room to finish getting ready and get our bag for the day.
The Expo didn’t open until noon. So we walked some of the Downtown Disney shops. We got in line for BIB pickup around 11:45am and there was a huge line. They opened right at noon, the line moved fast and we had BIBS in hand in less than 20 minutes. Since we were completing our Coast to Coast Challenge on this race, we received yellow wrist bands that we had to wear until we completed our race. On the way into the merchandise section, we took pics in front of the Super Hero signs with our bibs. We picked up our shirts, I exchanged mine for a different size. We went to the Run Disney section first. Man, did we find good stuff! We got “I did it” shirts, Coast to Coast shirts, a pin, running hat, mug and a glass! So thankful for that 10% AP Discount!! We walked through the vendors. We were getting hungry, so we went to Earl of Sandwich for sandwiches and salads. We went back to the Expo to take more pics, grabbed more chocolate milk (free at the expo) and apple sauce packets (also free). At 3:15pm we went back to our room to relax for a bit and drop off our Expo things and purchases and charge our phones.
After our rest, we headed back to the expo so Ryan could try on some shoes (didn’t find any he liked) and I picked up some natural bath products. We walked through World of Disney and all of the other Downtown stores. It was really crowded at Downtown Disney, so we felt like sardines! We grabbed pizza slices and salad at the quick service Napolini. We sat on a bench to eat. We walked back to our hotel before 8pm. We watched tv and relaxed. Lights out by 9:45pm.
