Is it for all hotels or just for some? I think it’s for all, but I’m still not sure. :star:

That article is reporting that for now it is only hotels on the monorail line so Polynesian, Contemporary and Grand Floridian. It could however be extended to subsequent hotels later.

This is what the new door tags look like. POR has them and Pop changed over while we were there. Looks like it’s for all resorts.

I don’t have any problems with them checking on everyone, like others have mentioned, we will just close the latch when we don’t want to be walked in on. Safety first!

Do they still offer the gift cards to those who decide to not get their room serviced during their stay?

@stupidjudy yes. At least as of last month they did. I haven’t heard of any changes to it. We were offered a card last month but not this trip.

I wish they did this for DVC!

How much was the card for? We will be at Coronado for 5 days, just wondering. :)

@stupidjudy it would have been $70. We were there for a total of 8 nights at POFQ. It wasn’t worth it to us being four in a room. My wife and I discussed and decided if they offered this time that we would take it since it was just the two of us and for a shorter time.

@nascfan and they didn’t even offer! I wonder if you would have asked if they would have given it to you. I am debating, it would be something like a 50$ card I guess, with three of us in the room it gets messy but 50$ is a free QS meal, might take the card!

Didn’t mean to get off topic but I just wondered about the guests who accept the gift cards, which means no housekeeping/checking daily, so they would still have someone checking the room once in a while.

@stupidjudy yeah, it’s totally random who gets offered. I’m sure they would check in, the reason behind this is safety. Plus you still get towels so they would still enter.
