110 – Columbia Harbour House is a favorite and go to every trip. Last trip however visited Casey’s for the first time and we’ll be back in future trips

111 – Last trip was mid-December last year. Next trip will hopefully be late 2022 for our 10 year wedding anniversary

D-COT Daily Disney Question #112

According to the latest news from Walt Disney World, the WDW Polynesian Resort rooms & Great Ceremonial House are being re-themed to Moana – do you like this idea, or would you rather it remain the classic Poly theme?

I’ve never stayed there but I’ve walked through the resort a few times. I like the Hawaii theme and I will be disappointed if they change it to Moana. Leave it alone. Disney is Disneyfying too much stuff. Not everything needs to be themed after a movie.

I believe “re-themed to Moana” is not the proper words to use here. Yes, the Poly is getting refurbed. Yes, it’s getting new colors. Yes, it will have “details, patterns, and textures from Moana” (Disney’s own words). And while that could mean many things, it’s not an entire re-theme. It’s not going to be a Moana resort, it’s still going to be the Poly just with hints of Moana. So far we know it’ll have the Moana characters in the carpet and maybe the in-room pictures. And characters in-room pictures are nothing new (my mind jumps straight to Lion King at AKL). But I am confident it will still be the Poly, just as it still is with all the hints of Stitch already there today. Moana will probably be in-your-face more than Stitch, but I still stand by my case. I’m feeling optimistic, but my final decision won’t be decided until we can see the final product.

I think she fits in to the whole Polynesian theming. I hope they don’t change it too much, I do love Lilo and Stitch in there. It took me a while to get used to the new lobby there after the recent refurb, and i really like how it is now, wide open and welcoming at the same time. I am surprised they are changing it again so soon.

I’m ok with adding some Moana stuff to the Poly since she fits the theme but don’t make the whole resort Moana themed
