    Friday 10/27/17
Lauren’s 26th birthday!!! It was a good thing AK closed somewhat early the night before. A couple weeks before we left MK changed it’s opening hours to 8:00 with EMH added to make it 7:00 am! This was just before Daylight Savings Time ended so the sun was rising later. We already had brunch reservations at Crystal Palace so she could see her Pooh Bear so we had no real choice but to brave the early hour. It was middle of the night dark when we got to MK at about quarter ‘till 7, not kidding! The beauty of the unholy early hour and the darkness was, they still had the light caricatures on the pavement from the party the night before and there was hardly anyone there! We got a really nice photo session with a photopass photographer at the Castle just as if it were nighttime before 7:00 and then strolled over to the Tomorrowland bridge just at 7:00. There was still hardly anyone at the rope! We easily rode Space Mountain two times, took a morning spin around Tomorrowland on the Peoplemover as the sun was rising, and rode Pirates, Big Thunder, Haunted Mansion, and Jungle Cruise, all with absolutely zero wait! The Jungle Cruise skipper was one of the best! She made all kinds of different, off-script, jokes and we had a delay docking as they brought another boat out. She sang a birthday song to Lauren and we finally just got to talking to her about general things. We then used our first FP for Big Thunder at 9:45, set up before the opening hours changes. I had 10,000 steps by 10:00 am!
We had just an incredible birthday brunch with Pooh and Tigger and friends at Crystal Palace! The character interaction was top notch, especially for two grown adults with no kids! Tigger actually petted me and purred! We jumped and bounced together too! Day, made! Pooh Bear just loved on Lauren like no other! Our bellies and hearts full, we rode Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh with our FP. We then decided to see Philharmagic since we didn’t complete that the day before. This was unsupervised moment #2 (the sunscreen at Be Our Guest being the first). The CM at the doors ushered us in as a show was about to start. Lauren was grabbing glasses for us and I basically abandoned her making it into the now shutting doors, she stiff-armed it! We laughed so hard! I expected to see her arm sticking through the door with glasses in her hand! We really shouldn’t be left unsupervised! LOL
From there we had a bit of time to relax so we moseyed up Main Street and stopped to relax in the side street at one of the tables. I kid you not, there was a person at one of the tables just enjoying a drink, reading a book! Whether she was a guest or a CM on lunch break, I do not know, but I would absolutely love to do just that for an afternoon! I don’t need to ride any rides, I would be perfectly happy just being there! It was now time to meet Talking Mickey with our FP. He asked what we were doing later and we told him we were going to Epcot. I was really impressed with the conversation he was able to hold with us! We scored a fourth FP for Spaceship Earth and headed to Epcot via the monorail. This is where I wish they could move the bag check at Epcot out a bit so that when you get off the monorail you are still in a secured area. That would save so much at Epcot! We met Daisy out front and got in the queue for SE. After we tapped our bands, before riding, Lauren was able to score a fifth FP for Soarin! A same day FP for Soarin? And our fifth?! Yes please! After riding SE we got the loaded mac and cheese from Active Eats and then the Dole Whip with rum from Refreshment Port where Lauren was also magic momented a free cronut! Oh my gosh, so good and we were getting so full with much more to eat tonight! We had to let those bellies settle so we saw O Canada, Lauren’s first time! She really enjoyed it. We then got the filet and cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread from the Canada booth and after eating that used our FP for Soarin.
It was now that we got the text that Steve and Chelle and the kids were on their way in. Yea! Another huge highlight of the trip was getting to see this wonderful, awesome family! We spent a good couple hours with them, strolling around WS and enjoying their company! It was such a great evening! We went clockwise from Mexico and enjoyed the mousse there, really enjoyed the Happy Peach drink from China (I think that was my favorite drink of the festival!), and found the pasta gratin with ham and cheese from Germany to not only be delicious but a great value for the dollar also! Our only sort of disappointment of the night was the apple strudel also from Germany. It just didn’t cut it for us. Our final F&W treat of the night was the beef with mashed potatoes from Belgium. It was very tasty, nice and hot and good value. We had to ditch the Belgian Waffle and beef from France. We were just TOO FULL! We were able to get the waffle another night though. Lauren got to see a Youtube couple that she watches, ResortTV1, because they were in Epcot the same evening. She was checking their livestream and found them in Canada the same time we were there! I think that just made her evening! By now Steve and Chelle had to get the kids home to bed, so we hugged our goodbyes to them with promises to see them again in December with the whole family. We browsed MouseGear a bit and then checked out Mission Space. It was a posted 40 minutes, which as soon as we entered we knew they were staging since it was close to the end of the night. We rode Orange with absolutely zero wait! We then hopped on Spaceship Earth for one more ride before heading out.
Something I really noticed, even though it was a Friday evening, the food booths were not extremely busy! We were very pleasantly surprised by the very low waits for them! It was a long day, a fun day, and probably just about a perfect birthday for Lauren! We made our way to the bus stop just before 9:00 and home to get ready for bed. Before heading off to dreamland though, Lauren proposed changing it up a bit for tomorrow morning. We had no intention of participating in the Banshee Stampede but she said if the line wasn’t too long at AK the next morning, did we want to try it? Uh, yeah! Absolutely! We really, truly shouldn’t be left unsupervised. ;)

EEK!!! Lauren’s birthday day!!!!!!! I love all of this so very much!!! So crazy that you entered Magic Kingdom when it was still pitch black out!! But so awesome at how much you got done in such a short time! You two really shouldn’t be left unsupervised!!! LOL LOL Lauren could have lost an arm! ;) LOL I agree that it would be awesome to just sit at a table in one of the allyways and just sip a drink and relax for an afternoon! What a FANTASTIC birthday brunch for Lauren! I don’t think it could have been any more perfect!!!! And what an awesome afternoon/evening at EPCOT! Again, great use of getting more FP’s and enjoying even more yummy festival food!!! You guys are amazing!!! I’m glad the booth lines were short! We have lucked out and typically get that experience as well. And if there were people in line, it moved quickly! Oh Lauren and her ideas for morning!!! You two are trouble for sure!!!

We’re silly for sure! This was definitely a “I’ll sleep when I’m dead” trip! LOL Thank you, I’m glad you loved our day! I can’t believe our good fortune in those later FP’s.

Happy (belated) birthday to her! It sounded super magical! :cupcake:
That Jungle Cruise sounds great! We had one once where it was us and two other families. The skipper gave a first time family a choice of regular Jungle Cruise or a “behind-the-scenes” Jungle Cruise full of Easter eggs and trivia. Thankfully, they chose the behind the scene one! But to be the only people on the ride sounds so awesome!
Tigger and Pooh are some wonderful characters to meet! :pooh:  :tigger:
You guys sound like a controlled mess, super silly yet serious. I can only imagine the chaos that ensues when you are with @eeyorepoohfan
That person with the book is most likely a guest or an undercover cop. Regular CMs on break go to the Utilidoors. But imagine going so often you just read a book! LOL
I never thought about Epcot moving their security! They should get to that!
A SAME DAY SOARIN’ FP?!?!? You guys really had quite the trip! :figment:
I agree on the apple strudel, yet somehow we get it every year…
I have a love-hate relationship with the staged wait times. We used a FP for Star Tours once because the wait said 20 min but it was clearly a walk on. So afterwards, we went on again and ended up waiting 20 min. -______-

A controlled mess, I like that! Good way to describe us! LOL
Heather and my chaos is the best chaos! Fortunately Kathy was there to keep us in line, at least a little bit. LOL
Oh, I didn’t think about her possibly being undercover security! I knew that many of them are posing as guests but it didn’t cross my mind at the time. If she was a guest, yes, I would love to be able to go so often that I could just sit and read a book and enjoy the atmosphere!

OK. Redeemed. You saw Philharmagic. Even though you almost killed Lauren in the doors, sounds like it was a great day! I love that you rode SE so many times. That is a great one. And the Canada film is actually pretty good!
