On with the trip report! Day 3, Epcot!

First order of business, Soarin’! Got in standby queue which showed about an hour wait, this was our only opportunity to ride it so we waited. Got the worst seats in the house, bottom left, oh well! We had some laughs over the bent Eiffel tower, everything was curvy. After that we had a FP for Living with the Land, which we were happy to have because there was a long line for this ride which is usually a walk on. I love this ride! Since we usually always have lunch at Sunshine Seasons this time we decided to eat in World Showcase. Walked across to the old UoE where they have the paint by number mural but this one was completed, oh well. So we headed towards World Showcase and picked up a few snacks at the Refreshment Port, some yummy cheddar cheese soup and some cronuts for the boys. During the art festival you can pick up a guide which has stickers and all the festival info and this year they have the ArtWalk where each country has a special pad you can rub into your booklet with a crayon to reveal different images. It was sort of like a treasure hunt, we got our booklets done throughout the day.

Lunch was in France, we love their ham and cheese croissants, chocolate éclairs and frozen coffees! Yum! After lunch it was almost time for our Frozen FPs (got those since the line is always long and I can’t justify spending an hour in queue!) so we took a Friendship boat across to save a few steps and walked over to Norway, the ride is very cute! I would have done it again but didn’t want to wait. Since we had skipped a bunch of countries to get to Norway we walked back around to visit all of them and get our ArtWalk stuff done. They had great photo ops where you become part of paintings, those were fun and the lines were always pretty short. We found another mural where we could participate in the paint by number, you get assigned a color and you fill out 8 squares, it was fun to see the mural taking shape towards the end of the day. We always enjoy shopping in the Japan pavilion, the boys like to try different snacks and candies and those drinks with the marble.

We wanted to take the art class, something like they used to have at Studios, Art of Animation, but when we showed up we were told they were done for the day even though it was advertised to go on til 8. Not meant to be, boo. Test Track was down so we checked out Innoventions (they need to bring in some more interesting stuff in there). And headed to our Mission Space FP, the boys did the orange side while we waited in the playground area, I didn’t feel the need to do Sporin’ again. :P Test Track was back up and running so we got into the single rider line.

We headed back towards Mexico for another visit with The Three Caballeros and onto China for shopping and our 8:15 ADR. We had a hard time understanding our server but he was very nice. We had a great dinner, can’t beat the price, soup, entrée and ice cream for 25$. Saw a bit of Illuminations over dinner, and when we got out the park was closed so we made our way back to the car, bye Epcot! Til next time. :epcot:

Oh man, sorry about those seats on Soarin’, but you had a great day! Glad Test Track came back up for you!

What a day! The ArtWalk sure was something!

Seems like false advertising to deny an art class, even if the schedule says there’s one! Although it didn’t really compare to the original Animation Academy, so you really weren’t missing much.

I would love to spend a week just exploring the countries. Always too rushed. Glad you got a lot of them in!

@Ferg, whenever I come back from a trip I always feel I haven’t spent enough time exploring World Showcase!
