Christmastime Trip – 12/9/17-12/17/17 – Day 9

Sunday 12/17/17

We woke up early to get our bags down for resort airline check in. One last Mickey waffle breakfast and it was off to the Magic Kingdom, where we arrived just before the welcome show. We planned for and knew this would be a more relaxing day to end our trip. We met Tinkerbell first with absolutely no wait. We even found Heather’s thimble! Then we went and rode Pirates, again not wait and I got to meet my Ariel! We had a nice chat and she offered to get me a purple fin (my favorite color) so we could go swimming together! We then finally got Kathy on the Teacups! There was one condition, no spinning! I happily took that on if it meant one more thing my wife could do with all of us. I never realized but no spinning is so relaxing! When you’re so used to spinning so fast that your eyes almost bleed, this is a refreshing change! We then met Tiana and Rapunzel with very minimal wait. Then we headed up and rode Carousel of Progress for our second time of the trip. All of this before 10:00! The three of us used our FP for Big Thunder and Kathy got a final ride in on her HM with FP. Then all four of us used our FP for Splash. It’s so nice that we all can ride together now! Well, Splash Mountain lived up to it’s name, Lauren looked like she had just gotten out of the shower! It’s a good thing it was warmer now! We popped over to Tomorrowland and took a final spin on the People Mover. After getting off we saw Stitch tucked in a corner with no wait! We think no one could find him! It was a great meet! We were getting hungry so we had a nice lunch at Cosmic Ray’s, enjoying the outside seating, knowing that we were going back to the cold in a few hours. It felt so good! We used our last FP for 7DMT. We got the very front car, something we hadn’t before. It’s a really neat unobstructed view! It was time to pick our last attraction.  We settled on Philharmagic, a nice feel good way to end it. I texted Heather to see if she would like to join and she said yes! So she queued it up and I let her know as the curtain was going up! It was great! She got to do two things literally right with us! This just made the trip so much more special! We could not believe how much we got done in half a day, without rushing! We meandered out while browsing the shops on Main Street, blowing kisses to Cinderella Castle at the front hub. It would not be until September 2018 before the kids would see her again but for us, just a few short weeks until we were back for the Heather trip and her Dopey Challenge! We had a bit of time at POFQ before the bus was scheduled so we filled our mugs and sat by the pool just enjoying the Florida sunshine and warmth. What a difference from last weekend! It wasn’t long enough however as Tragical Express finally did pick us up for the ride to the airport and then the flight home. It was nice and smooth though with no weather troubles thank goodness.

Final thoughts: First, if you’ve stuck with me this long and all my ramblings, thank you! I hope I provided some entertaining reading for you. This was a really fun, different trip! Ben’s first holiday time and he loved all the decorations and Christmas music and holiday entertainment, as we all did! MVMCP was awesome! We were so glad to be able to go this week though as opposed to the next as we could just feel the crowds build. As much as we enjoyed the different Christmas theme of the trip, we all realize and agree that this type of trip is a rarity for our family. We just really enjoy going to Florida when it’s warm instead of cold. We just expect and want warm weather when we are there. We still all had a blast and loved it!
