    Saturday 12/16/17

We were up and at Magic Kingdom just before rope drop which worked really well as us three were able to rope drop Space twice while Kathy rode her Haunted Mansion. From there we rode Winnie the Pooh, Under the Sea, Dumbo, and the Carrousel all before using our first FP for Haunted Mansion. Then we immediately used our FP for Pirates. These were both very good uses as the stand by lines were very long at that point, in fact HM was up to 90 minutes when we got off! While the attractions lines were very long, it didn’t feel as crowded as Wednesday. But we could definitely tell the holiday crowds were arriving. We were so glad we were able to go this week as opposed to the next! We met Mary Poppins with no wait at her gazebo behind the Christmas Shoppe. I love this area for her meeting, there’s no Photopass but there’s also hardly ever any sort of line. Kathy and Ben had never seen the Castle Forecourt show so we made sure they got to see it. It’s such a cute show and we all enjoyed it! We enjoyed some chili/cheese dogs from Casey’s in the little what we call “picnic area”, the grassy areas of the hub. It felt good to just soak in the atmosphere and hear the Christmas music of Main Street. We used our 3rd FP for Jingle Cruise, as good as the first time, and picked up a 4th for Figment for later at Epcot. No Soarin’ 4th this time. We rode a full circuit of the train around the park and then took the monorail over to Epcot to finish out the storytellers/Christmas entertainment.

Once we reached Epcot it was time to use our FP for Figment. This actually turned out to be a good use as the standby was 25 minutes! For Figment! Since we were back there we saw the characters at the Visa Meet and Greet. I love this little area, hardly ever much of a wait! We started around WS on the left to finish out the holiday entertainment, heading to Germany to see the Bavarian Band. A really fun, high energy presentation and man, could that lady yodel! We had some time before the next act and I was texting with Heather ( @eeyorepoohfan ) and we decided to take her on the Gran Fiesta Tour with us! She queued it up on D-Cot and I let her know when the boat started and she rode it right along with us, just from home! That was so much fun! I hope it made her day because it surely made mine! We looped around the front of WS and saw the final act, the Canadian Holiday Voyageurs! Good group! Whew! It took some planning, a bit of bouncing back and forth at times and three trips to Epcot, but we got all the holiday entertainment in! All in all they were good, but I will say this, compared to last time Kathy pointed something out to me and I agree with her. There were a lot more musical acts and we kind of missed more of the storytelling, the nutcracker tale in Germany, the lumberjack who transformed himself into Santa Claus in Canada, to point out a couple big ones. But, times and entertainment do change, as with everything, and we truly enjoyed our visit to all the countries. Since we were close to the International Gateway we walked on over to the Beach Club for a bus to Downtown Disney. Fortunately there was one right there as we walked up! We wanted at least some light for the Christmas Tree Trail for pictures. Wow! There were so many cool trees! It was very well done and we thoroughly enjoyed it! It was quite orderly for pictures too. Guests would move in and then move out of the way for others. It was nice to see cooperation like that. We decided to try D-Luxe Burger for a late dinner. This was very, very good! We wouldn’t hesitate to eat there again! It was even nice enough we got to eat on their patio! We did a bit of shopping and then caught the boat home to POFQ where we filled up with hot chocolate and packed for tomorrow….booooo! On the bright side though, our room looked GREAT from the water with our lights!

I need to go back and read through all of your other days, but I started here since you tagged me! ;) I seriously loved to listen along on the jukebox while you were on the ride! It was so fun!!!! You guys seriously knew how to pack in so much into one day, even with all those crowds! Great uses of FP’s for sure!! It is different to see the entertainment change over the years. But it is nice that they try to keep things fresh. We really like D-Luxe burger too!!! A great spot for a good meal!

@eeyorepoohfan oh that is such a great idea to run the ride music in the background!! I’ll have to keep that in mind for stalking friends when they are down there without me! @nascfan, we did your day in reverse! Epcot in the morning and then MK to meet our FL friends that night. be happy you left when you did. Without fast passes you couldn’t ride anything. we could not even hope to see Happily Ever After, it was so jam packed you couldn’t even move. But its MK, so you have to be happy ;)

I’m even more glad we did it that way after seeing this! We could really tell the crowds were there with wait times. I’m glad we left when we did!

It’s crazy how much the crowds kept building on your trip! You guys did great on getting in to MK, getting stuff done, and getting out before the “magic” was lost. Great uses of FP’s too! You really beat out the crowds that way! I love that you ate on the “grass” for lunch! Way to finish out and seeing all of the EPCOT Christmas entertainment! That was a lot of planning and back and forth for sure! I love that you on purpose tagged me! It really was fun to ride along with you!

I literally gasped at the wait for HM that early in the morning. NO. THANKS. :surprised:
Those stories in Epcot sound fun! Confession: I’ve never seen ANY of the shows at the Holiday time except for the Candlelight processional. But all of those shows sound like fun!
