    Tuesday 12/12/17

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party night! Oh boy were we excited for this!
Since this was MVMCP night we used the opportunity to sleep in a bit and enjoy breakfast at POFQ. We went to Downtown Disney, getting there right about open for some nice crowd free shopping and wandering. We had a 2:15 at Whispering Canyon so we used the time after shopping to tour the monorail resorts for their Christmas decorations, going from Poly to Grand Floridian and ending at Contemporary since that was closest to Wilderness Lodge. We probably should have saved the GF for last, Ben was rather let down at Contemporary after seeing the gingerbread house at GF! LOL We did manage to find all 17 Hidden Mickeys at the Contemporary gingerbread house though! Whispering Canyon was just as good as Kathy and I remembered from October 2016 and Lauren and Ben enjoyed it thoroughly for their first time! Our server latched onto Ben as his “target”, taking his sunglasses and wearing them through the whole meal, and so many other ways to pick on him. Ben took it in stride and we all had a good time and stuffed our bellies way too full!
We boated over to Magic Kingdom and were in at 4:05 for the party. Perfect timing! We took the bypass to the right up, getting a pre-cookie and pictures with the big ornament. It was finally a decent temperature day, nice enough that we could be comfortable in Christmas sweatshirts without jackets, although we had those at the ready for later that night. We hopped on Peter Pan’s Flight at the end of our FP time and right over to 7DMT at the beginning of our next FP time. That couldn’t have worked better! We knew what the lines would be like so we took that opportunity to get in line to meet the Seven Dwarfs. We were able to meet them by 6:40…perfect! Didn’t use any party time! Kathy really wanted to meet Uncle Scrooge McDuck so the two of us got in line for that while the kids went over to meet Pooh, Tigger, et al. And then it was time for Party! The line for Scrooge and Donald took a little longer than we expected but the kids got done with their meet and got us Dove chocolates and sparkling cider while we waited. So good! Then after seeing them we got the peppermint crunch cookie, which was VERY strong peppermint and chocolate milk. Off we went for snickerdoodle cookies and hot chocolate, which were so delicious! The cookies were so soft and good! All of this was in or around Fantasyland! We stopped briefly for snow cones and Santa cookies on our way up to Tomorrowland to Totally Tomorrowland Christmas show on the Tomorrowland stage. That was a very cute show! I’m glad we saw it. The had snow at the end too! We of course had to get another snickerdoodle cookie and more hot chocolate on our way to stop in at Club Tinsel (Cosmic Ray’s) to see how the dance party was going. We spent a little time in there and then moved on to Pinocchio’s Village Haus for more cookies and some cider. We worked our way around to get a Snowman Soft Pretzel at Tortuga Tavern for our final free treats of the night. Oh boy were we full! Seriously, I think I named my food baby Not-So-Tiny-Tim! LOL The only treat we didn’t get was the ginger molasses cookie and eggnog, but we didn’t really want those. It was time to see Holiday Wishes. Oh wow, was that an incredible show! We staked out our spot on Main Street for the 11:00 Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. This was the top of the night! Such a great parade and by far the highlight has to be the toy soldiers! How they do that and play their instruments, I don’t know! The snow on Main Street was great all throughout also! We enjoyed the final Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration at the Castle stage at 11:55 to wrap up a very fun evening and party. Very tired and very happy, we made our way out to home and bed, stopping for a quick Photopass photo or two.

It was SO cold the first part of the week! I’m glad it warmed up later. We always hear of people in shorts and t-shirts in December, unfortunately we’ve never experienced that.

We prefer it a little chillier but when we decided to do our pool day at AoA on Sunday, it was even a little too chilly to go in the water even with the sun out :) we still did it though! LOL

I like your plan of sleeping in a bit, enjoying your breakfast and then heading to DS for early day shopping! I bet the crowds were quite a bit lower then! And I love doing the monorail loop of Christmas decorations!! Yes, you totally went in the wrong order for Ben!! LOL LOL ;) And you got your pre-party Whispering Canyon Lodge! YUM!!! It’s always delicious when we’ve eaten there too!! But I’ve only done breakfast. PARTY TIME!!!! Great use of your pre-party time to meet characters and not encroach into your party time! Holy cow, you guys got to enjoy lots of treats!!!! Not-so-tiny-Tim! LOL LOL LOL Best name yet!!! We haven’t attended the Christmas Party. But it would be worth it for the parade and the fireworks alone!

Another great morning at the Resorts! I bet anyone would be disappointed if comparing the GF to the Contemporary gingerbread sculptures! There’s no competition, not even the same league! LOL
Good thinking on the characters! Especially happy Kathy got to meet the Dwarfs! :dopey:
Oh my goodness, so much food! And it all sounds so good! And it’s free!!!! I may have to cash in just for the food! :surprised: :pluto: :cane:
