dngnb8:  What does your handle mean and the story behind it?
starbee:  My handle comes from a nickname I was given in college. I could always be seen with a Starbucks in my hand so my friends started calling me “Starby”. I figured all the good Disney handles would be taken when I joined D-COT so I used my college nickname, but changed the spelling to something cuter, and thus – starbee.
dngnb8:  Coffee is life.

dngnb8: When was your last trip to a Disney Park and what memory is the strongest?
starbee: My last trip to WDW was in October 2019. My strongest memory is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. I dressed as Figment and several of the CMs made comments like “Figment’s here!” and “How nice of you to make it over from Epcot tonight”. I had a blast with all the characters at the party!
dngnb8: My family got similar responses when we dressed up. There are some Cast members have that natural ability to just up the ante on those intangibles that make a trip to the parks special.

dngnb8: How did you find D-COT?
starbee:  I found D-COT through a now defunct blog called the Disney Wedding Blog (not to be confused with Disney’s official Disney Weddings Blog). There was a post about Steve and Chelle’s Disney Wedding where Chelle had written that Steve created his own Disney fan site. I stopped by to check it out and I’ve been back close to every day since!
dngnb8:  Sooooo….. wedding blog reading……  is there something you wish to share????  Ooops sorry… I just became my Italian Grandmother there for a moment. A genetic danger in my family…

dngnb8:  What is your favorite Disney movie and why?
starbee:  I don’t know that I can pick just one favorite Disney movie!!! It’s probably going to result in rotten vegetables being thrown at me but if you’re making me pick one, I’ll go with the Emperor’s New Groove. It’s a movie that I’ve watched a lot growing up, still find funny, and don’t get tired of. Also it doesn’t make me cry. 😂
dngnb8:  No rotten vegetables on this page. We all understand how the movies touch us. So let me just say squeak squeaker squeak squeaky squeak….

dngnb8:  You get to interview Walt Disney, but only are allowed 3 questions, what are they?
starbee: My questions for Walt would be:
– If you could go back in time and change one thing about your life or career, what would you change?
– What is your favorite place you’ve traveled to?
– Who was your biggest inspiration?
dngnb8: Oooh, go back in time. I like that. *shakes off urge to break into Cher imitation.*  Great question. I wonder what he would pick?

Well, starbee has bared all. From hard-hitting questions for Walt, to surfing wedding blog sites.  Hmmmm. I wonder what questions you all would ask?

dngnb8 is one of our contributors to D-COT and helps provide some very interesting historical info as well as the latest official Disney news.

    • The irony is when I’m at the Disney Parks, I mostly drink Joffrey’s ;) I can upload some :figment: pictures. This actually changed a little from when I was interviewed. At the time of the interview my last trip was October 2017 and I dressed as Figment. I’ve since taken another trip and actually dressed as an alien from Toy Story this time. It was part of a group costume

      • Oh my gosh I love that!!!!! yea you should show us all your fun costumes!!!

  4. ahh i forgot you were going in october! how was food and wine? @starbee

    • It was really great! Unfortunately I was sick for some of it so didn’t get to enjoy it as much as I’d liked. Also it was SUPER hot!

      • aw that’s  you were sick.. and i know omg! i checked the weather yesterday just for fun and i can’t believe its still in the high 80s!

  5. @starbee I can relate to the MNSSHP experience! When I had a Captain America Shirt, and Captain America Mickey Ear Hat and my wife had a T-shirt with the Cap Shield on it, we got lots of comments, but the best was when I saw a guy dressed like Captain Hook and we looked at each other and greeted, “Captain,” “Captain.” LOL

  6. Reading this just made me think…we are so similar we might be sisters!!

  7. Great interview! I love seeing some things I knew and learning some new things too!
