D-COT Platform
Hello there fellow D-COT members! It’s been a while since I posted some site news and I finally have some! I’ve been working on the next generation of this site called D-COT Platform.
But, will I lose my data?
Nope! The best part is the new software will integrate all your jukebox favorites and custom playlists, photos, messages, forum posts, activities, etc. The only thing that might change is your profile information (about me, favorite Disney songs, birthday, etc). You can just type those in after the update though. ????
Why the change?
The site needs an overhaul and has been running very sluggish. I’m sure you’ve all noticed. ???? The platform will run faster and the site will be hosted on a new, more powerful server.
OK, so what’s new?
I’m glad you asked! The platform will see a complete redesign which will make things easier for our members to navigate. Here are some screenshots of the new look.
XP, Gems and Points
The new platform will use the XP system the same way. We are going to be adding a new system called “Gems”.
For every 100 Points, you will receive 1 XP. It’s the same way now so there’s no change. For every 50 Points you will receive 1 Gem. Gems will be used for upgrading your account. For example, you can use gems to receive 1-year supporter status or unlock an achievement or badge faster. Oh, what are achievements and badges? Keep reading…
Badges are what you are familiar with now: Status Sharer, Friendly Member, etc. In the profile screenshot above you can see the badges under the XP, Gems and Points.
Achievements are given when you meet the criteria for it. As an example, let’s say one achievement is called “Junior Imagineer” and the criteria for it is: 50 XP, 2 earned Badges and a minimum of 100 Gems. Once you meet the criteria you will unlock that Achievement and it will be displayed on your profile.
This system will always be evolving, but I’m pretty excited to see what we can do with it!
The Jukebox
We all love the jukebox. If you’re a supporter you can get a sneak peek at the next version which will be implemented in the platform. It’s faster, easier to search for songs, mobile-friendly and just all-around better. Give it a try and feel free to send any feedback to me.
Wheel Spins
I know you all love playing the Daily XP Booster Wheel. Who doesn’t? The new wheel will be integrated better in the platform. It will behave the same way, there will just be some changes “behind the scenes”. These changes will allow for new wheel releases more frequently. Oh, and remember those Gems? You’ll be able to use them to play games to help increase your Gem count or win cool prizes. ????
