The Rumors of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge: Hondo’s New Shipments

New missions for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run could be coming soon, including a new planet.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

The Millenium Falcon, on loan for some very fast and very profitable expeditions. However, this ship seems to be stuck on one mission: a raid on the First Order’s coaxium plant. While this mission is fun, what if we could do more with the Falcon?

When Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was being developed, the Millennium Falcon was rumored to have a total of three separate missions. One of these was the coaxium raid on Correllia, however there聽were two more options we can’t explore at the moment. The first also took place on Corellia. Hondo, the host for the attraction, knows the Falcon is one of the fastest ships in the galaxy. Why not bet it in a race? It would be up to the guests on board to win the race and keep the ship in one piece.

New missions for Millenium Falcon: Smuggler's Run

The second mission took place on a whole new planet. During a panel during Star Wars Galactic Nights, a limited-time hard-ticketed event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2017, Disney Imagineers talked about creating Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and the world of Batuu. But when talking about Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, they talked of bringing guests to a completely new and original planet. New concept art was shared with the Falcon facing a tentacled creature, similar to a Summa-verminoth (that being the tentacled monster awoken in the Maw in Solo: A Star Wars Story)(and no, I don’t just know that, I had to look it up). Rumor has it that this unknown planet’s mission would involve stealing some treasure guarded by the beast, almost like a sleeping dragon. Of course, the beast awakens and it’s up to the guests to make it out in one piece.

Nobody knows what happened to these two other missions, but it is believed that these missions could be added to the Falcon soon. As Walt once said, “As long as there is imagination left in the world, Star Wars Land will never be completed.” That’s a legitimate quote, look it up. 馃構

  1. oh wait so millennium falcon is the same ride every time? i assumed it was similar to star tours in that you get a different scene

    • Same story, outcome is always different in terms of ship damage and score

      • ohhhh, gotcha! i don’t know where i’ve been, but i didn’t realize it was that interactive LOL

  2. That would be nice to have new levels in training. I’m unsure about a new planet since Star Tours has non stop destinations including Kef Bir that they added. :chewy:

  3. Wait there’s a new Star Wars land?

    • Yup! Now open in Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. They’re also working on a Star Wars Resort right by DHS! :bb8:
