Happy HalloWishes possibly leaving for a fireworks show with projections. Holiday Wishes may follow. More ride overlays in the works.
Halloween, one of the greatest holidays of all time. Free candy, cool costumes, and of course, special ticketed events all around! One of these special ticketed events is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. The party includes trick or treating, exclusive character meets and treats, a few ride overlays, and exclusive shows. One of these is the fireworks show, Happy HalloWishes. Hosted by the Ghost Host, the show celebrates villains from across the entire spectrum, including Oogie Boogie, Heffalumps and Woozles, and even the grim grinning ghosts of the Haunted Mansion. The show also has a name similar to Wishes, a previous nighttime spectacular in Magic Kingdom that just recently retired for the epic Happily Ever after.
Happily Ever After uses choreographed projections on the castle and they really add to the fireworks show. Happy HalloWishes, however, doesn’t have the complex projections Happily Ever After does. As a result of this, speculation has led to the death of Happy HalloWishes. Rumor has it some new Halloween show will come and with projections too. It may be for the better, as Disney introduces new villains all the time, from Tamatoa in Moana to Dr. Facilier in Princess and the Frog. It’s also believed that Holiday Wishes, the fireworks show from Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, will also follow suit and be replaced.
Speaking of Halloween changes, more ride overlays are potentially in the works! Last year’s party introduced overlays to Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Mad Tea Party. Although not exactly received well, Disney may be trying to make a mark by adding the Peoplemover, Big Thunder Mountain, and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor to the roster. How they would change these is unknown, yet very intriguing.
Happy haunts are on their way, so please, take your loved ones by the hand, and don’t shoot the messenger. 999 happy haunts is enough.

also i’m so down for more ride layovers!! i only rode PoTC but still it was soo cool with the layover!!

Initially I was sad to read this (I know it’s since been confirmed) because I love this show and I’m always a little sad when things I love go away, even if the replacement it’s better. Happily Ever After is so incredible that I’m sure they will do great things with the successor to HalloWishes. But I really hope they keep the 180* fireworks because that was my favorite part!
