Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa opened at the Walt Disney World Resort on May 17th, 2004. The architecture is inspired by the New York country retreats of the late 1800s. A Disney Vacation Club resort, you can enjoy your Villa with all of its recreational offerings at this 65-acre Resort—just a short boat ride from Disney Springs!

You can enjoy two pools, the Turf Club Bar and Grill, Senses Spa and the Treehouse Villas. That’s right! This resort offers its guests rooms in a treehouse. This enchanting experience has you elevated 10 feet off the ground! What’s wonderful about these villas is that you are secluded and surrounded by woodlands. You do not share any walls with other guests, so you don’t have to worry about loud noises, kids screaming or wall-banging. :P

This is a DVC resort, but don’t worry. If you’re not a member you can still enjoy it! Reach out to Off to Neverland Travel to book your stay.

  1. I forgot about those tree-house villas!! but do remember when it was the Disney institute ;)

  2. The lobby photo above is beautiful!

I’ve seen very conflicting opinions of this resort lately online, and some criticism about the condition of the resort.
In what limited experience I have there (just passed-through a couple times) it seems very much like your typical timeshare location vs. Disney-themed resort.

Would love to hear feedback from any D-CoTters who own/have stayed at SSR, since we are staring to think about our next Disney trip soon.

    • It’s old and beat. They need to renovate it.

      • Thanks for the reply, @steve! How is the resort beside being tired? How’s the pool? Is it easy and convenient to navigate, or is something as simple as a mug-refill a chore?

        • The resort is massive. If you’re not close to the main pool you would have to hitch hike like one of the ghosts from HM. If you can stay at another resort, you’re better off.

          • Great to know, thanks. We were actually toying with buying-in on the secondary market, and this resort has been up the top for “best bang for your buck” the past few years. May have to consider elsewhere now.

        • If you can get whatever resort you want to stay at when your 7 month window opens, it still might not be a bad idea to buy in at SSR. Good price per point and low annual dues would work in your favor. My BIL bought in there for that reason and has never once stayed there. He’s always stayed at WL and AKL

  3. i got to stay here once when we were booked at coronado springs and there was some kind of convention for interns happening. my dad was NOT happy there were a bunch of drunken college students running around so disney upgraded us to a villa at saratoga for free! it was such a beautiful resort, i hope to get back there one day

  4. Would love to stay in a Treehouse one day. Just passing by those on the Sassagoula River Boat cruises is amazing!!!

  5. The lobby is really pretty! So is the pool area. I would LOVE to stay in a Treehouse someday! That’s on my bucket list
