The Disney theme parks are not the only place where themes are designed to transport you to other places and times. The Disney resort hotels were built with that same purpose in mind. Paying a hefty chunk of change or some Disney Vacation Club points could land you in one of the Disney deluxe resort hotels where architects and Imagineers went the extra mile in designing an immersive hotel, along with the comforts and amenities, of course. Want to journey to the turn-of-the-century New England coast? Since November 1990, you can do just that at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club resorts.

Yacht Club’s opening preceded Beach Club’s opening by mere days. The two resorts are physically connected as well as sharing amenities, staff, and a convention center. Among the shared amenities, the most noteworthy is Stormalong Bay which is host to one of the tallest resort water slides on property – disguised as a shipwreck – and a large sand-bottom free-form pool area. Is Epcot your favorite theme park? Great news! It’s just a 5-minute walk to the World Showcase! The sister resorts do not go unnoticed when it comes to food offerings either. Guests can find their favorite cut of steak at the Disney Signature level restaurant, Yachtsman Steakhouse. Offering a mixture of New England offerings is the relatively new Ale & Compass Restaurant. Over at Beach Club you can find a retro diner and ice cream shop at Beaches & Cream. A favorite of many who regularly stay at Beach Club, it is the exclusive home to the Kitchen Sink: an ice cream dish built for four with 8 scoops of ice cream, smothered in every topping they have and a whole can of whipped cream! Last, but certainly not least, is the Cape May Café where you can find a character breakfast and an impressive seafood buffet at dinner time.

On the Jukebox, D-COT has a 2-hour loop of the music you’ll hear around the Yacht and Beach Club resorts. It’s filled with classical guitar pieces to add to the feeling of elegance at these lake-side resorts. Though the resorts have been around for a long time now, D-COT just added this music to the Jukebox on January 30, 2019. Over the past 6 months, the track has been played 578 times. It has been well-received by 21 members who have added it to their Favorites and Supporters who have added it to 25 Custom Playlists. It gets a 4.7/5 average rating with 30 votes. If you need a relaxing respite from a day of theme park touring (or theme park soundtracks), this is a great place to check-in for a listen, and maybe a cool drink by the pool.
