This thread discusses the article: Politically Incorrect Disney Princesses

I think this is ridiculous. The first part, that is.

there was only one brunette princess for a while too (snow white), and the others were blonde.

disney features were based on old, old fairie tales (grimms, etc.), and they weren't diverse because the world wasn't diverse at the time those stories were written.

angelina should hush.

I heard about this Angelina quote as well, however, I heard it was stated in the context of referring to her daughter. She said her daughter is getting into the princess stage, and has no Disney princess that really "looks" like her. (I assume we're talking Zahara, here, though I actually had to google that to find out her name! Haha, me and popular culture don't always go hand in hand.)
In one way, I can kind of understand. If I were a mother having to try to explain to my daughter why none of the princesses looked like her...well, it'd be a bit sticky. However, as a celebrity, Angelina probably should have done her research before speaking out. If this statement had come out several years ago, it might have been one thing, but most of us (Disneyphiles, I guess), have known about Maddie/Tiana for a while now.

Of course, all that being said, there's ALREADY so much fuss going on about the new movie, its almost sounding like they'd have had less political-correctness-trouble by NOT making the movie at all. oO;

This is silly although I guess in today's day and age it's expected. Everyone is so overly sensitive and everything is about race. Cmon now, lighten up everyone!

I agree, too.....give it a rest. Everything doesn't have an ulterior motive or hidden agenda....Sometimes a movie is just a moive, a princess is just a princess.
