Guest Leaps for Ultimate Magical Day |
|
Thursday, March 20, 2008 |
Some magical moments last less than a minute while others can last a lifetime. For a young Guest from the North Pole, Alaska, a timeless "moment" is what he experienced recently at the Disneyland® Resort.
Joseph Daniel, 8, and his family from the North Pole enjoy a memorable day celebrating his leap year birthday.
Joseph Daniel's story is unique, not because he is from the North Pole, but because he was born on February 29, a leap year. Technically, he was only 2 years old in calendar years, but age 8 in chronological years, when he celebrated his birthday here at the Resort.
Guest Relations Cast Members heard about this unique visit and partnered with Attractions Cast Members to give Joseph the ultimate magical moment.
l day for Joseph and his family!...
Joseph enjoyed seeing that Captain Mike wore a sundial "where time stands still" as his watchful timepiece.
Captain Mike from Fantasyland was Joseph's all-day host taking him on a timeless journey from the days pirates ruled the Caribbean, to sailing atop the Mark Twain Riverboat on the Rivers of America, to the land of tomorrow and beyond. According to Captain Mike's watch, which really did stand still (the timepiece was a sundial), Joseph was whisked away from one adventure to the next.
Joseph's mom could not believe this all-day itinerary Cast Members had planned for him. "Do they treat everyone like this here?" she said throughout the day.
By the end of his day-long adventure, the birthday boy found a new friend in Captain Mike. Each time one adventure ended, there was a genuine hug given to Captain Mike from Joseph as he inquired, "What's next, Captain Mike?"
We truly have great jobs here at the Resort - Captain Mike
For mom, the best part was experiencing the day through her son's eyes. Surely, these are memories that will last a lifetime.
Many thanks go to Captain Mike, the Guest Relations and Disneyland® Attractions teams for transforming an ultimate magical moment into a magical day for Joseph and his family!
