After seeing some of the bug problems and people becoming frustrated with the constant disconnects, I've decided to reevaluate how the portal functions.

I did some thinking and I feel that I can come up with a better solution for the lag and disconnects. I'm going to start working on it when I get back from vacation (Dominican Republic next week).

Basically, the portal will be set inside the website's template and will no longer have a buddylist. I'm deciding on whether or not have any sort of chatting capability. What do you think?

Hmmm... does sound simpler. The chat function has been nice, but is something I can live without. I think that the enjoyment of the music and the site overall should take precedence over being able to chat and see who is online. My two cents...

I agree...Enjoy your vacation!. oh as for the portal. its a great system. bugs..i can live with them. i also agree with Calypso chat can be lived without. it would increase the forum activity in my opinion.(if there wasn't a chat option, or to see who's online. i guess the only use to see who is online is for chat.)

Ok, sounds like chat can be ditched for now. I was thinking about putting in a little something that will tell you which members are listening to the same playlist you're listening to. Just an idea. But the main goal is a less-buggy, faster jukebox.

Also, I spoke with Ricky Brigante over at "Inside the Magic" and D-CoT will be building an official web-player for his podcasts. He will embed the player on his website and we will be able to stream his podcast right in our jukebox. This will help spread the news of D-CoT.

So far, so good. Seems like a great fix until you are done goofing off!

ha ha...yeah the player loaded quick and i didn't get a reconnect notice at all! Great Job! Guess i'll have to start listening to Inside the Magic instead of just subscribing to the video segments. keep up the goofing off!
