Disneyland's Frontierland
Frontierland recreates the setting of pioneer days along the American frontier. According to Walt Disney, "All of us have cause to be proud of our country's history, shaped by the pioneering spirit of our forefathers. Our adventures are designed to give you the feeling of having lived, even for a short while, during our country's pioneer days."

Attractions

  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  • Fantasmic!
  • Golden Horseshoe Saloon
The Golden Horseshoe Stage (referred to as Pecos Bill's Golden Horseshoe Saloon during construction) opened in 1955 with several other original attractions at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California. Over the years it has now housed multiple entertainment venues, currently showing Billy Hill and the Hillbillies seven days a week. The "saloon" is located in Frontierland and has a picturesque view of the Rivers of America, New Orleans Square and part of Critter Country.
  • Mark Twain Riverboat
The Mark Twain Riverboat is an attraction, located at the Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, California, on which passengers embark on a scenic, 12-minute journey around the Rivers of America. Originally named the Mark Twain Steamboat when the park opened in 1955, the stately, 5/8-scale stern-wheeler was the first functional riverboat to be built in the United States for fifty years. Other Disney riverboat attractions now appear at Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris.
  • Pinewood Indians
The Pinewood Indians are audio-animatronic American Indians from Anaheim, California. They can be seen on any of the three Disneyland water attractions (the Mark Twain riverboat, the Sailing Ship Columbia, and the Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes) that circle the Rivers of America. The Pinewood Indians live in their own village in the northwest corner of the theme park, where they tend to their canoes, cook wild boar over an open fire, and tell tales. They are so named because, as the rivercraft guides say, they are made from real pinewood.
  • Sailing Ship Columbia
The Sailing Ship Columbia is a full-scale replica of the first American ship to circumnavigate the globe, located at the Disneyland park in Anaheim, California. Its passengers embark on a scenic, 12-minute journey around the Rivers of America. When it was constructed in 1958, it was the first three-masted windjammer to have been built in the United States in more than 100 years. The Columbia has entertained park visitors for nearly fifty years, including its continued role of Captain Hook's pirate ship in the park's popular Fantasmic show. In 1998 the ship was involved in a tragic accident when an improperly placed docking line tore a cleat loose from the dock, killing one man and injuring his wife.
