|
Wednesday, March 26, 2008 |
Bob Iger, president and CEO of The Walt Disney Company, took time out of his family vacation at Walt Disney World to meet with his extended family — the resort's cast members.
On March 25, Walt Disney World President Meg Crofton toured Bob around property to several locations. First stop was the Disney University, where he met with the staff then dropped in on a session of the Traditions new-hire class. Next was a visit to a merchandise warehouse, where he learned about a new shipping process that increases efficiency and took some time to recognize a cast member celebrating 25 years of service. He concluded his day by meeting with 60 members of the Disney Vacation Club leadership team and sharing his vision for their business.
Bob said he enjoys the unique perspectives he gains from speaking one-on-one with cast members.
These visits are extremely valuable to me. There is so much that goes on here ... these visits give me a real appreciation of what everyone does. - Bob Iger
